Oasis...

A band who should have given up years ago as their last 3 albums have been shite.Their live gigs have been poor(v festival the other week was crap) as was the itunes last month.

I will miss the good songs from the first two albums.I won't miss Liam.

Noel and Weller will probably collaborate more now, which may be a good thing.
Liam will probably try to recreate the "mountain of charlie" scene from Scarface for a while, which may seem like a good thing, but probably isn't.
I personally think that they should have split after the 1st album,as they were never going to better that.
In fairness, not many other bands have either.

great band, one of the best of all times in my opinion. i know noel has left on earlier occasions but this does look like its the end for sure.grew up on this band from the very first single and every tour i saw them they got bigger and played bigger venues from hacienda, academy, sheffield arena, nynex, maine road,knebworth...

Oasis got me into music when I was about 14-15 and were the sole reason why I learnt to play the guitar but I'm quite happy they have called it a day tbh. Now Noel can do some solo stuff. An acousticy album is way way overdue.

For those who are sad about the split, you can take it to the bank that in a few years they will be back together.

just realised this could be great news for the band oasis could have been. step forward... hurricane #1. every cloud an all that ;)

I imagine Gem will probably work with Liam on his solo stuff. He really has the ability to bring out some blindingly good tunes with him. Outta time, Love Like a Bomb, Born on a Different Cloud.

Dont give a shit about Robbie Williams drummer. I like Andy and hope he features in one of the solo line ups.

Liams voice had disintegrated live and I had wished they had become a studio band about 5 years ago rather than playing live.

Still its a shame for music and im sure we will hear what happened over due course.

I just hope they go all out for it on their solo record away from the constraints of oasis. I would love to hear a Lim record produced by someone like the prodigy or death in vegas.

My favourite band EVER. Grew up on them and idolised them in my teens but them splitting up doesn't bother me. I mean it's not like they are splitting up in their pomp. We still have Ciggarettes and Alcohol, Live Forver, She's Electric and 30-40 other great songs to dance around to like prats or to drunkenly whale out. They will be back in 5 years doing a comeback gig.

I'm looking forward to Noel's solo stuff, they should be great!
