Was there actually anything wrong with the existing system, other than it didnt raise enough money?

The entry level is 'Gold' pmsl. 'Membership', 'free' pdfs of club mags and 'extra' loyalty points for 'just' another £50 on top of any other standard price increases for your seats (or even more in the case of what was the North Stand and is now reclassified as the East Stand).
Anyone protecting their points or aspiring to more will go Platinum and so actually it will make little difference to the overall pecking order. Just a neat way of getting more money out of the fans. Many more will now also sign up to the cup schemes and therefore pay for and/or attend more games spending more money per season overall. Much more money in lots of cases ...... Season Ticket? Supersize that Sir? lol
it's all smoke and mirrors.
There are good deals to be had but only if you acknowledge that you are not in the loyalty points race and just take gold, or better still, value gold.
This is the watershed moment. Do you become the 'consumer' of the brave new brand. Or do you choose to bow out gracefully and be gradually left behind in the race for a future Champions League final ticket.
I'm undecided. I'm quite tempted to pay the lesser amounts, go to fewer cup games, and save the difference to help stump up for tickets from touts when there is a major final that I want to attend.
But probably I'll end up stumping up for Platinum. Sounds sooo posh lol. Like a friggin 'premier' credit card from the 80's that supposedly gave you extra perks but in reality just cost you more money. Course there were specially selected customers who were invited for an even more 'special' credit card 'experience' as well which ultimately made your Platinum Amex or Visa card look a bit weedy by comparison.
Will there be 'ST envy' at the turnstiles?! lol

Quite a big problem with the new financial regulations, I know an increase is hard to take but if we are to truly mix it with the big boys then it is essential we start thinking big and charging more.Millwallawayveteran1988 said:Was there actually anything wrong with the existing system, other than it didnt raise enough money?
trumpton said:it is indeed, very clever marketing. If everyone pays the extra £50 you will still be in the same points position as everyone else. The only way to deal with this would be for everyone to boycott the £50 extra (£50 saved and still the same in the pecking order).
The campaign starts here!

If you get a Superbia card they carry you up in a sedan chair. They also boot anyone with a lesser card out of the way so you wont have any delay. Same on the way out as well.
