If he can pull this off and show the football world we will not be messed about then we are on a very good path indeed.
If he has ruined our chance of signing Eto'o when Laporta was still trying to make it happen then he is clearly a fool.
I hope and pray (and believe) it is the former.
Come on Khaldoon! Show us what you are made of!
How dare you even hint that a man of Khaldoon's standing may be a fool? You clown, he's a very accomplished businessman with more nous than anybody you've ever been within a mile of.
I'm not grovelling, just stating a fact. Who rattled your cell?
Well, you've shown your limitations there haven't you? If it's a battle of wits you're after, you are fighting unarmed.SalfordCityBlue said:Llewellyn Dowd said:I know his standing in the business world and you would hardly be on here calling him names if you had anything like his integrity, so take your head out of your crack.
What are you on about you bellend?
I haven't called anyone names (other than you just there, but it was more than deserved).
I suggest you enrol in your local college and take a reading comprehension course.

Franny Lee knew how to sell bog roll but was shit at running a football club...
Sounds like I'm running him down - I'm not, I think he could become a legend. Still got a lot to prove yet though for me, but I'm more than hopeful he will be awesome.
Pulling off the Eto'o signing will go a long way to providing that proof.

Might be true or it might not (I expect it is) but at the very least it's a bit of positive publicity as opposed to us being desperate to sign Eto'o and him not wanting to come

Good bit of business sense if you ask me.

Yeah, that was my original point though mate... We could be about to witness one of the sharpest pieces of business I can ever remember in football - IF it comes off!
Admittedly my point got somewhat trampled on when the shaved orangutans arrived on the thread throwing vomit.

Barcelona try in vain to resurrect Man City deal for Samuel Eto'o - Exclusive By Simon Mullock 12/07/2009
Barcelona were last night fighting a losing battle in a bid to persuade Manchester City to resurrect their £25million offer for striker Samuel Eto'o.
City pulled the plug on the deal late on Friday night after refusing a request from Barca president Joan Laporte to once again extend a deadline for the transfer to be concluded.
The Catalan club, desperate to sell Eto'o to the Blues to help fund their own £35m move for Valencia's David Villa, spent yesterday trying to resume negotiations with City's hierarchy. But chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarek was adamant City were no longer interested in Eto'o.
A City insider told Sunday Mirror Sport: "The decision to end negotiations with Barca for Eto'o is not a bluff.
"Khaldoon felt negotiations had reached a dead end and it was time to draw a line under the episode and concentrate on other targets.
"Khaldoon is not the kind of man to make U-turns once a statement of intent has been made public.
"He decided Manchester City were not going to get caught in the crossfire of the game between Barcelona and Eto'o."
