El Mundo Deportivo are reporting that City could still be Eto'o's final destiuantion and that his agent has contacted City about the deal again in the last few days (since City pulled the plug).

Maybe he knows Terry is gonna sign;)

City have played their card well here imo. They thought the 48 hour deadline was a bluff, but it appears Eto'o and Barca are really squirming at the moment.

Yeah looks a good move by us to say we've pulled out. United wont sign him it goes against all their policies therefore Barca are left with no way of getting rid and no David Villa. They could come crawling back and we get a nice discount. Either that or no Eto'o , meh

i too read this not to long ago what the mail was saying and im not to surprised. City have done this well if all is to belived? we come out of this as they are just messing us about and have stayed true to our statment. If Barca or the man himself want anything to happen they have to approach us now and if they are doing this surley we will see the man in blue shirt at the start of the season. Might even get him for less cash etc etc???

i dont Think this over

UP THE BLUES!!!!!

It does seem to have worked better for us than I expected. Id like him to sign that goes without saying but my concern when we pulled the plug would be that the papers would have a go again ala the Kaka saga, stating that we only pulled out because he didnt want to come to us etc etc making us a laughing stock again! However it appears that the papers have sided with us this time and are actually reporting in a way that shows us in a positive light!

the papers have finally seen that we are going to break in the top 4....

I think too many bridges have been burnt for him to stay there, it's all very well and good him saying he will see out the last year of his contract but it's a world cup year and sitting in the stands for a season will do no-one any good. If we want to push this through I think we should get him, it's now down to city if we want to resume our interest as we seem to be the only viable option for a player who needs to move clubs.

City have been terrific in all this, win either way, and dont look daft. eto'o and barca have until we fly out to sa to sort this out by looks of it

It won;t just go,you are right. If anything it has put us in a very strong pos;n.We can look for another striker, but if Eto;o decides to come here,it;s him that has to get on his knees. Not even next year would the rags or anyone else for that matter match our offer. It may sink into that brain of his over the next 12 hrs or so.right wheres thems straws I was holding..:-0

I think City have dealt with there transfers so far this summer in truly professional manner and played it well in this i think them pulling out has really forced the issue here as i dont think alot of other clubs were in the running.

I think what City did with the Eto'o saga could be one of the most brilliant acts ever done in the history of transfer dealings... Look at the publicity we're getting, bloody Barcelona and Eto'o are BEGGING us to talk to them.
We've never looked stronger :D
