What are your chances of Eto'o coming , and will City meet his demands ?

Keep reading for another 500 pages and we may find out-this is where this thread will end up unless breaking news from an ITK appears.

If he doesn't come , is that it for this season , or are you looking elsewhere at other big name options ?
I think we will bring in a big name one way or another

Finally something about football!

To be honest mate I think Forlan would be a brilliant addition, two-footed, a great goal-scoring record in the last few years (European golden boot twice), full of confidence and importantly something to prove.

What about Everton, who do you think you'll add, what positions etc?

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Tottenham have been hopeful of signing Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers but the Paraguayan, who returns to Britain from holiday this weekend, is expected to undergo a medical at City almost immediately.

This means Hughes' long-term target will probably be named a City player early next week. However, the medical is significant: Santa Cruz has not played since March after knee surgery and had longstanding injury problems earlier in his career.

While Samuel Eto'o was the subject of talks between City and Barcelona on Tuesday, the future of the striker still rests upon whether the Spanish club can replace him. Nevertheless, the vast wealth of owner Sheikh Mansour has allowed them to dominate the market this summer, forcing everyone else to postpone their moves until City have shown their hand.

Article from Independent

I like the part about everyone else postpones there move until CITY have shown their hand.

The article began saying that CITY are confident they have Tevez

Forlan was a nice player , and I was disappointed he didn't stay in the Prem .
Away from the Prem , he really does look a great footballer once again , and I would be delighted to see him come back , be it City or someone else .

As for us , most rumours are defensive positions , but in my own opinion , because of injuries , we need to work hard in this window .

We need 2 defenders . One a first team regular and one back up .
If he keeps Jacobsen and Lescott , we will still need to add there . If he let's Lescott go to City , and doesn't offer Jacobsen a contract , then it's gonna get sticky .

2 midfielders would be nice .
One defensive and one attacking , depending on our right back acquisitions . We already have a strong midfield , but not strong enough defensively .

A striker would be nice to share the role with Yakubu , and some quality subs for a few key positions , as we are in Europe again etc .

I think Moyes will address most of our needs , but they might not be done with familiar names .
