The Times chief football writer Henry Winter: "Manchester United have to react. City's new manager Guardiola has praised United in the past. The advantage City have had is that they have people in high positions at the club who know Guardiola."

I think Winter is meaning the rags can't really appoint the Family Man now, they have to go for someone like Mourinho to at least try and compete with Pep's arrival.

They will- they will sign a new £2m per season deal with a Moroccan soap maker to sponsor their training kit shorts and loan jizzyjazzy out again - then issue a press statement saying they want to be the biggest club in the universe - fluff up Maureen but not give him the job and have TT sat in a press conference shouting incomprehensibly - business as usual in other words.

If they appoint Mourinho it will be because they have panicked, just like their reaction to not qualifying for the champs league. They panicked and spunked millions on the wrong players.

We are now dictating - the rags and the rest 'have to react' to what City say and do.
And if he thinks the only advantage we had over the raggies was the presence of his old Barca buddies, then he'd better get to the Etihad campus and have a bit of a look round at the facilities, the academy , and the current squad, and do a quick comparison with the farce at the swamp.
