Re: The last laugh

This is the sort of thing that pisses me off!

did nobody watch him yesterday or the start of the season with us? or last season with us tbh? FFS just because lescott doesnt dive in and lunge for every ball doesnt mean he doesnt want it.

dunne was okay when we were an okay team, we have moved onto the next level now, and the simple fact is dunne wasnt good enough.

if he was as good as some seem to make out he was on here, surely on of the 'top 4' would have made an offer for him?

Re: The last laugh

Lescott is miles better than Richard Dunne so behave. People are just looking for someone to blame and for some reason Lescott seems to be the one they have chosen, he defended better than Toure, Richards and Bridge today and for Duff's goal it was Barry and De Jong not doing their jobs.

I think people need to understand that we match up very poorly with Fulham for some reason, during a season there are always games you should win(the rags losing to Burnley, Chelsea to Wigan and evn points at home now and again). Today we threw the match away, it's as simple as that. We still have lost only once this season and the results this weekend didn't do us too much damage.

Team for Scunthorpe: (IMO)

-------------Given--------------

Ned---Toure--Kompany--Bridge

-------Barry--------De Jong------

-------------Ireland-------------

Tevez-----Adebayor---Bellamy

Time for us to wake up and make changes in the defensive area rather than our attacking area. Lescott on the bench for now, he can earn his place in the starting 11. With Barry and De Jong aswell, should be a huge lift.

Looks a good team. Its about time that Ireland came into the game. 1 DM is enough as the 2DMs of late has lacked creativity.
If being really honest we do need some vision in midfield, I'd play VK instead of De Jong otherwise it looks more balanced.

Re: The last laugh

People were quick to slate Dunne last year. I said it time and time again he was always in a the back 4 but had so many different players playing beside him it never worked. While other players got the benefit of the doubt Dunne was soled. Dunne this season has been 1 of the best defenders in the league and if he was still at this club he would be first pick. A player like Dunne would of been more up for the battle of places at the club than any other player but Hughes didn't want him as the season goes on I think Hughes will regret this more and more.

i presume you are basing dunne performances at villa on the city, chelsea games. You need to watch the highlights of the blackburn and wolves games mate

Re: The last laugh

I think a lot of people will have to admit we should have kept dunne looking at his recent performances myself included.. and our defences poor displays...
