My main worry about this game is how we seem to struggle on a narrow pitch.
I think this is the main reason we have such poor away form as not many pitches are as wide as the COMS.
To combat this i've gone for the formula below:

-----------Bellamy-------

-----------Robinho------------

----De Jong---Ireland---Zab----

Bridge--Nedum--Kompany--Richards

-------------Given-------------

The reason for this selection is i think Robinho i more effective in the hole behind the forward sliding balls through.
This also allows room for Bridge and Richards to get forward, Zab or De Jong can tuck in and cover if this happens.
Rob for me is wasted on the left and when Bridge gets forward they seem to either get in each others way or Rob doesn't return the ball and cuts inside all the time anyway.

You might want to add another player.

Amended!! ;)

Ok due to recent form on some players I've figured it differently!

Score: 3-0: Robinho, Elano, Ireland!

------------------------Given----------------------

--Richards---Kompany---Nedum---Bridge------

--------------Zabaleta------DeJong--------------

----------Elano-----Ireland-------Robinho-------

---------------------Bellamy----------------------

___________________________________________________

If he drops Richards due to his slight dip in form then this, but I doubt he will.

Score: 3-0: Caicedo, Bellamy, Robinho,

--------------------Given-------------------------

--Zabaleta---Kompany---Ned---Bridge-------

-----------De jong------Ireland-----------------

---Elano---------Bellamy-----------Robbie-----

---------------------Caicedo----------------------

MH though will probably play Fernandes .

I sincerely hope not, you have just put a right dampener on my day with that suggestion. He shouldnt get anywhere near the squad, never mind the starting eleven.

Score 4-0: Caicedo 17', Elano 35', Caicedo 56', Bellamy 78'.

Caicedo - to hold up the front with his strength allowing Bellamy and others to get a crack on goal.

Zab - Replacing Richards in his poor form at the moment and will probly be running up getting some passes in to our strikers with Elano running in as well. Might not happen as hughes will probly leave Richards in.

Elano - Replacing SWP and getting some creative assists, crossing and loving corners for us. Not as strong as Shauny put he has it where it counts I think.

Ireland - Back in the midst with De Jong. I rate Stevie as a pretty decent defender as well. He will hold up the spot and spring to the attack with lovely assists and through balls.

That team selection looks good to me but I wouldn't be surprised if Hughes doesn't go with it but keeps Richards at RB and Zab in centre mid. I think it will come down to a choice between Elano, and Caceido for SWP's spot.

Won't be 4-0 and I can't see MH going away with 2 up front, much as I'd like him to.
