Official: The Atmosphere Was '****' tonight.

I don't why i expect it to change each home game... it never does.

47k there Monday, 23k there today. No excuse for that big of a drop. When people can't make the 'big' away trips then threads like this can be pointed at to show why.

Even if the match is meaningless or unattractive, it was £15. Liverpool was £50 wasnt it?

Maybe not everynody can afford 2 matched in a week - £65 is a lot of money - and by the way i was there.

The club should be lowering the ticket prices - We're not at the stage of Man ure or Chelski where they can charge what they like and still get the big crowds but saying that even Manure have struggled to fill OT in the current economic climate.

Sorry,

I think you are way off the mark.

I apologise, you are clearly the biggest, hard core, Manchester City fan in the world. You may be, you may not, but to declare the 20 odd thousand there as the only real fans is ridiculous.

I did not go because I was away with work and could not get back in time. I usually go to all early rounds of the cup, but I understand why some people dont want to, and choose not to.

I am a season ticket holder, and I know people who just turn up for the cheap cup games, but because they were there and I wasn't, they are the real fans and I am not? Do me a favour...
fair enough you have a valid reason but how many so called "loyal" fans did not go because they could not be arsed, and come out with feeble excuses for not going, but will be the first to moan if they can't get tickets "for the big games" etc and i stand by my statement about hard core fans and until we have 40000 plus in the ground for a match like last night i won't change it and we will always be regarded as small time

I agree, to an extent, about feeble excuses.

But then I tell myself that I am in no position to decide if a persons excuse is valid or not. Some people say they cant afford it, I always think well its only 15 quid, or 30 quid, or 40 quid, what does it matter, but some people aren't fortunate enough to be able to afford stuff like that, and maybe they have saved and scrimped for a ST, and can't afford cup games.

Some people also travel from far and wide for league matches, and to not do a 2 or 3 or 4 hundred mile round trip on a thursday night for Timisoara, I can see where they are coming from.

Like I say, we should fill it, and in normal circumstances, I would have been there, but I don't think its for anyone else to decide who is a real fan.

no wonder the rags laugh at us we go on about being a big club haha don't make me fucking laugh, last night was a fucking joke the atmosphere was shit, the attendance was shit and some on here go on about ticket prices and beer, fuck off

if you live in the northwest and you did not go last night i question your loyalty to city, it goes to show for me how many hard core fans we actually have and it looks like there are no more than 25000 of us

who gives a shit who we are playing i would go and watch city play the dog and duck if they are at home simple as that, as someone said even villa had 30000

we the fans need to change our mentality or we will always be regarded as a small club by the likes of the rags etc and stop coming out with feeble excuses of no beer, shit opposition (like you go watch the oppo any way), board could not be arsed so why should we, needs to be cheaper a fucking fiver for kids (you cant get in the cinema for that you fucking tight minged fuckers), if you come out with any of this shit you are deluding yourself and looking for excuses that are not acceptable to any real hard core blue so stop and fuck off

if you live out of town you are exempt from this rant and if you are from out of town and made it to the game last night RESPECT

let us know and put the so called real mancs are blue brigade to fucking shame, and you lot start fucking turning up at this type of game as it is easy to turn up for big games any clown can do that
if we get to the final watch the loyalists go then clambering for tickets and moaning when they don't get one letting everyone know how big a fan they are, but in reality you aren't that big are you as you did not fucking go last night, if i was city i would give them to the lads and lasses who turned up last night if we make it to the final and fuck the rest of you

to be fair to big blueballs
he didn't say he was a 'big' 'hard-core' fan
he also stated that if you are out of town then there's a good reason not to be there midweek

but on monday there was 47000, take out pool's lot and that leaves 44000 city fans
yesterday there were 23000, so where are the missing 21000?
what makes it worse is your assertion that a lot of 'only cup goers' were there, leaving us with the idea that even more 'fans' didn't turn up

however it could be down to fans not being able to afford extra games

personally i enjoyed it, a beer in city square in a modicum of sun followed by a stroll in the park

i didnt go

tried to book two tickets at the box office on wednesday about 8pm, there was a message saying that i was next in the que.......an hour later i gave up. rang up friday morning and some guy said "oh sorry, we closed early" told him they should have took the message off saying I was next in line!

anyway, tried charging me £25 per ticket, and when I said they were £10-15 the day before he told me i should have bought them then, I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!

told him where to go and watched in on the box, that is party why the stadium was half empty, the box office is still terrible.

I was there last nite but you are way out of order accussing other fans without knowing their circumstances -- YOu might be able to easily afford to go to as many matches as you want to -- Some people might not have that luxury.

What the club should be doing is making things cheaper for the fans ie ticket prices / food / beer / soft drinks - I love the club as much as everyone but i had to scrimp and save to pay for last nights tickets and it will only get more expensive the further we go in each competition.

I stand by the only cup goers statement, but if I said most were, then I retract that part. I know plenty of people who go to cup games only.

Apologies to BB if he said about the out of town part. I haven't read the full thread, and if I missed it through not reading a post properly then fair enough.

And again, correct me if I am wrong, I though he said that the people who were there were the hard core fans. Again, if I am wrong then I apologise.

The where are the 21000 question can have many answers, mainly made up of travel problems, expenses, or plain can't be arsed going to a Europa League match.

I dont think like this, but I don't condemn anyone who decides against going to see that match last night, it is their perogative.

Sorry i couldn't attend this evening to make you feel better about yourself and feel part of something bigger in order to improve your self esteem. Will it be alright if i bring a letter from me mam to the next home game explaining my absence?

Excellent rant.

Total balls, but as far as rants go it contained everything.
