What a load of shit.

If someone at City made that decision then they would be as big a **** as Glazer and mob at United.

That is a snide trick right out of his book and the only reason that sort of thing is ever implemented is to shaft people out of money.

It's a good job that you give away your age with your username, so we can all write that sort of bullshit off to the ramblings of a naive 19 year old. Otherwise, we'd have had to assume that it was someone with a bit of life experience advocating the implementation of a policy dreamt up by some of the biggest scumbags in football.

(NB: for other 19 year olds. Yes, yes, I know there are plenty of wise and intelligent and reasonable 19 year olds. But statistically there more 19 year olds than older ages who haven't got the capacity to empathise with anyone whose life doesn't mirror exactly their own experiences, as the above shows. What other reason would cause someone to advocate a Glazer policy? FFS!)

Im 37 actually the reason for my user name is nothing to do with you,but that's my point of view if you don't like it i don't really give a shit, but you have had people moaning for years saying,"god if city were ever successful we would get full houses every week"well guess what it aint happening and i think it should be,i live in macclesfield and i know of at least 20 od people that go every week which were there last night,so stop now with all the bull shit excusess, and im no millionaire i can assure you

That's even more depressing then. A grown man, presumably with some experience of responsibilities, commitments and budgets, advocating one of the shitest policies in football, dreamt up by some of the biggest ****s in football and a piece of pure profiteering at the expense of the club's fans, just so it will make him feel better about the amount of people at a match.

If it can't be written off as the ramblings of a kid just out of the playground, then I am staggered.

Surely the question should be - if a guy is going to every cup match why hasn't he got a season ticket?

Does anyone really want to go to every cup match but not the prem league?

Me and my mate were surrounded by 65+ OAPs. As soon as we sat down we knew what the atmosphere would be like.

The game didn't do much to help but like the OP says, I certainly would've appreciated a bigger/louder attendance.

Ah!! The good old empty seat jibe.

Why can't everyone just understand that the reason the place was empty is down to money...people just can't afford to go to every match.

It's really isn't worth the falling out.

Personally I went and really enjoyed watching one or two of the kids, but if you couldn't make it the fair do's. Moneys tight.

Totally disagree. If someone has had a season ticket for twenty odd years and followed the blues through thin and thin then i believe they have the right to experience the good times and go to the final, even if they missed out on a few games in that competition, rather than a johnny come lately who may have just started watching city but attended all the games in that competition, i.e. the europa.

Well we will have to agree to disagree.

Heres one then - a season ticket holder has never been to a cup game for ten years. So his seat is free to general sale. That seat is bought by someone for every cup game and has been bought by them for 10 years.

We get to a final - who in your eyes deserves the ticket more?

Good Quiz, though i think my hypothetical scenario is more believable than yours. It seems strange that someone would not miss a cup game for 10 years but would not have a season ticket. Anyway, i actually think the loyalty points system is extremely fair in that it rewards loyalty and ensures that season ticket holders, who are the bedrock of a clubs support, are well rewarded for having forked out £400 - £600 at the start of every season. However, i can understand how someone in your scenario above would be pretty pissed off on missing out on a ticket. No system is perfect but i think City have it pretty close.

The money argument doesnt really fit thogh as other clubs get bigger attendences for the same level of fixture. So is it just city fans that are skint? Are our tickets more expensive?

the atmosphere was shit last night because we're doing the graveyard shift, and its boring. thursday night against a nothing team and then sunday, nobody wants to play thursday - sunday every week, its shit. of course the atmosphere was gonna be shit, get real. FC timisoara, who? it's not the end of the world, after all these years you should be able to deal with a poor mid-week attendance. when we're in the champs league im sure it will be a lot different, but atm a chilly midweek game follwed by the shit hole that is sunderland on a sunday isn't very appealing. yes i was there last night and yes i am going on sunday, but you will have to expect that kind of atmosphere for a little while longer yet. i mean would it feel right to have a crowd of 47,000 going crazy in a mid-week qualifier againts FC nobody :S
