I was sat in the south stand, the romanian fans were in good voice, what can you expect from this kind of match? not that bothered to be honest, rather watch the football

Perhaps a good general sing song? A bit of banter with the Timi fans? To go with a good City performance. Just a thought.

if u wan't to sing etc, feel free, i sing sometimes, but not much, but everyone has a different opinion about it, wouldn't change the spectacle of a beautiful game for me though

Same names same knobheads, the atmosphere the atmosphre, do you realise how pathetic you sound. Barely 3 days ago you watched the blues destry liverpool in a full stadium with a great crowd roaring them on & all you can do is slag the fans off because it wasnt the same tonight. Wish you miserable twats would give it a rest you do the club no good.

Wow!

Ragcafe will be loving this thread. FFS did you expect anythind else.

Are you telling us anything we didn't know.

Get a grip.

We can't all be loyal fans that lose our voices for a shit game that was just going through the motions. Fuck we must be shit fans!!!!!

Couldn't give a **** about Redcafe. My original post was regarding the atmosphere and lack of it, and why we can't be arsed singing and getting behind an impressive team and display, regardless of the competition and/or opposition.

I was there in 110 tonight with my mate, our first competitive game since the Carling Cup Derby cos weve been at Uni and where I was, us and the people round me were doing our best to get some sort of song goin. Got tickets for there because its the best place in the ground for singing etc and to be fair, i dont think round this area it was as bad as people are makin out. Problem seemed to be that literally no other section of the stadium seemed to be followin our lead, hence the overall shit atmosphere. But like people have mentioned on here, lets put it into perspective, 25k for a Thursday night following a big match against a shit team isnt bad. At least people turned up, maybe they couldnt get the enthusiasm for singing their hearts out or being stood up for the full 90, but at least they were there, putting their arses on the seats, showing their support just by their presence. When I was at uni I went to pretty much every match at bramall lane, in the kop, and if you think tonight was bad, multiply it by about a hundred and youve got an idea of what its like there, even for a big tie like sheff united v cardiff or something. So we have a fantastic vocal support, see Monday night for proof, and just cos it wasnt there consistently across the (half empty) stadium against a shit defensive team in a quasi-meaningless match, doesnt mean its indicative of a deep rooted passivism and ambivalent consciousness of our fans as a whole

I felt sorry for the stewards to be honest, they where really nice guys and took loads of stick. As usual three or four catering supervisors suited up stood around having break downs. I dont get how it was so hard, they know the numbers they where expecting, they issued the vouchers with the tickets so knew the exact number of people where comming. To run out and make people miss 40 + mins of the game was pathetic, worse still it looked like loads of them where newbies.

not only that but how many parents would have thought not to feed their kids cos they were "getting a meal at the ground"? and then have to go home on a weeknight and then feed them before trying to get them to bed? ludicrous.

Spot on. I had exactly the same experience as sniff, with two kids who I didn't feed pre-match because I knew they were getting free hot dog and chips.

We queued up to be served approx 20 minutes before kickoff. 10 minutes after kickoff we still hadnt been served and they told us they had run out and to come back at half time. So we came back ten minutes before half time, missed the goal, yet again couldnt get served. This time there were no chips left. Or hot dogs. Or anything. We were still there 10 minutes into the second half as the men in suits were debating what to do, and finally gave up.

Our club is full of good intentions at the moment, but some of the planning is woeful. I think we'll get it right eventually but nights like this are so frustrating.

Doesn't matter who the opposition were or what competition it is. 25,000 empty seats would not happen at the dippers, Villa park or Goodison. Thinking we are to good to be in this competition seems very arrogant to me.

Did you see Villa park tonight? It looked just as empty as ours did.

30,000 turned up at Villa and it was live on TV.

I repeat ( did you expect anything else )

111 and nearby blocks seem to do their bit. For me the problem is the South Stand. Pathetic.

I'd like to see CCTV evidence used against South-standers. Anyone caught refusing to sing in this designated singing section should be forcibly evicted in the way that non-families were evicted from the family stand.
