the pub where chiquitos is, was called Jazzbo browns. spent many a night in there.

Oldham used to be a good night out with the cats whiskers club Dreamers & Henry Africas but times have changed its a shithole now & best avoided if possible .

Oldham is a shit hole these days but back in the late 80's and early 90's was a brill place. In no particular order i used to love going to

Bluberries in Manchester. We saw Brian Robson, Paul McGrath and Norman Whiteside carried (and I do mean physically carried) out there pissed as newts on a Friday night on many occassions.
There was nightclub just across the road which my memory now faded and distant fails me from remembering (any ideas anyone?).
Bennies - Radcliffe. I met the missus in there! 24 years later we are still dancing to the soulful tunes they played. Happy days. Very happy days indeed.

your going down the same lines as I was going to, Hippo's in Midd was absolutely brilliant for a couple of years, I'd add Generation X, The Hangout and DeVilles to your list above. Hippo's finally got knocked down a couple of years ago, it was a bit sad to see something that played a big part in my life for a couple of years just disappear, a bit like when The Hacienda closed for good.

i can't believe Jazzbo Browns and Sol Viva are being mentioned,Sol Viva is the worse club i've ever been in in my life,and i've been in some shitholes.Used to quite like Isadoras/hangout,Home round the bk of piccadilly,Devilles,Hacienda,Jackies strip club near the hac was a quality night out,Wiggly worm/Millionaires,Richfields.My clubbing days are over now,last club i was in was a year ago i got dragged into South,it was horrendous,full of twats with Paul Weller haircuts! awful place never again!
