Old Rock Stars

Saw Ozzie a couple of years ago. Band were great, he, less so. As a previous poster has said, the Who, all 2 of them, were still loud and quite brilliant but Daltry was far from his strutting best. The Stones still bang it out. And whoever said Hackett take a bow, he's still rather good.

McCartney is on here soon, he has sold out a football stadium, the best seats are about $800 or something daft, fuckin mental, his voice has just gone.....he was a great singer but spent so many years screaming his rockier stuff that his vocal chords are shredded
You'd think a man with a legacy like McCartney's would have the nous, and the money, to source a more subtle hair dye.

I was never a Floyd fan, apart from early Syd Barrett Pink Floyd, but my mate has always loved them.
He's seen the originals in their pomp, and went to see the Aussie Floyd and said they were just as good
musically, and he can't wait to see them again.
Syd was the real deal, a genius
The music since him has been too preachy
I mean 'Money'
When I first heard it I didnt realise they were singing about themselves

The "Boomer Generation" are aging badly. At least the entertainers are. I was watching the Yes' HOF induction ceremony. Fuck! Rick Wakeman looked like a doddering old hill troll in a Jim Henson Fantasy movie. A lifetime of drugs, bad lifetstyle choices and bad hair pieces have finally got to them. The jazz crooners and be bop musicians that came before them like Sinatra and Mikes Davis had their moments but they always toned it down when they worked. Some jazz musicians died from smack but a lot like Davis, kicked it and lived smart. Sinatra famously never drank when he recorded albums. But a lot of rock musicians ate bad food, did bad drugs while touring in cramped buses for decades.... well that catches up with you.
Heavy smoker though. Not a great lifestyle choice for a singer. Or anybody, actually.

Close the thread now because the greatest of them all still belting it out, still inspiring young guitarists and still unearthing talent all round the world is the great...

Worth catching are Think Floyd and also surprisingly good are Manc Floyd.
