Looks night and day more confident than he did last season
I have to say in these type of matches I didn't think he lacked confidence last season.
Brighton hardly attacked at all , although when they did he handled Knockaert pretty well who is probably their most dangerous player right now.

He might have been nominally our LB today, but that's not where he played the majority of the game, he played very well in our midfield, he's a very good footballer, has energy and skill in abundance, he can easily fill in for us in 2 or 3 positions, and a very useful part of the squad.

What a perfect young player to fill in as an inverted fullback. His long and short passing is phenomenal.

For me it's his range of passing that puts him ahead of Delph at the moment, glad he decided to stay.

iso vids vs Brighton - per whoscored: 154 touches, 95.3 PA% - so many touches they needed to cut two viddies, heh:
1st half -

2nd half -

btw, about 5 mins into today's YT training video from the club, Sane and others are making fun of OZ's quirkiness,
especially the hand motion he does at 3:30 of the 2nd half video above

I'm glad he stayed at the club and think he has a role to play this season, but am absolutely terrified at the thought of him starting against Liverpool.

He looks more fit and confident. Last year it seemed like he ran out of gas after 70 mins. He has great quality on the ball and really good overall team IQ.

This kid makes me happy. Tried to sell to Napoli, he says no and becomes a centurion and cup winner. Try to sell again and he says no and is genuinely trying to break into our first team, which he is succeeding at. If he was an academy product I think a lot of people would rate him much higher. The fact that he wants to be here so bad makes me like him so much more. Well chuffed to have him and what a player he will become. Hopefully this is his opportunity to become cemented as one of our lb choices. If he does play at anfield and plays well, I might favour him more to Delph, if he plays shite, god help you haha

People can knock him, but he gives me more confidence than both Mendy and Delph. I think he deserves a run.

Technically accomplished and it will be interesting to see if Guardiola starts him in either of the next two games. His highest profile start was arguably against Chelsea last season when he (indeed we) had a relatively easy ride against a drearily negative Conte side. Neither Hoffenheim nor Liverpool will be so reticent, so it is a big call.

Its looking likely he will play, given both Delph and Mendy are unavailable.

I have faith in the kid,he has the ability and nothing appears to faze him.

So glad he decided to stay and fight for his place - thats what we want as fans and I am sure Pep was secretly delighted that Zin took that stance. Goes to show that he has belief in his baility and he has not failed so far, even though their will be tougher tests ahead.

Great to see

Looked very good the other day. Granted, Brighton did not participate in much football during the game and the next two games will be very different but what he did have to do he did well.

I would love to see Zinchenko given a run as Defensive Mid, rather than left back. It would take him a while to settle in, but I think he has the vision and passing ability to be an interesting choice there.

Watched most of Italy/Ukraine to eye our boy OK. He started on the right side and didn't see the ball much unless it pin-balled to him somehow.
At about the 20 min mark he was shifted to the middle in front of the defenders and nicely QB'd UKR until half-time.
In the 2nd half he was shifted back to the right and spent most of the half helping the RB at the corner of the box defend waves of Italians.
Here is a tweet with some iso cam of his performance. It edits out his fumbles,
but it also doesn't include a back-heel clearance on a CK and one of his handful of clever dummies.
