Easy to like this lad. Gives his all and doesn’t hide. Very good technically and very comfortable on the ball. Just terrible defensively. Shame he doesn’t really get any time in a midfield position.
Last night showed Pep absolutely doesn’t rate him in midfield if it wasn’t obvious already. Never a left back either, he’s gone in the summer for a nice profit. Professional attitude and funny, I like him but he’s simply not at the level of an elite club and that’s ok.

Not at all, had to play him at left back due to hiding Delph in midfield, damage limitation !

everyone has there own opinion, this lad never moans when hes on the bench, and you need your water carriers, its a squad game, you cant have 25 elite internationals in a squad its impossible.Last night showed Pep absolutely doesn’t rate him in midfield if it wasn’t obvious already. He used to be 3rd/2nd choice LB, now he is 5th in the picking order after Mendy, Laporte, Danilo, Delph and then him.
I think this was a coming of age performance at LB for Zinch.
Previously he's been playing like a guy who's been stuck at LB to fill a hole. Even when he played well, he still looked out of position and a bit ungainly, and for someone who was an attacking midfielder playing LB, he never really went past the halfway line, unless it was to put in the occasional cross from deep areas.
Today though he looked like a LB, but on top of that he brought some of his qualities as a midfielder to the role, lovely interplay, good link up, some nice passes.
Everything just looked 10x more confident, more assertive, like he was at ease with the role he was being asked to play and not a guy filling in to help out.

I don’t know if it just clicked with him in training recently or if Chelsea made it easy for him but whatever it was, that was a sumptuous leftback performance
