If he goes it will be abroad. He does not want a provincial English club. The issue being foreign clubs are not willing to pay what Wolves, West Ham etc would.

He really seems to be enjoying his game time at the moment and is happy.

Did it in preseason against dippers and was class there. He’s never been a LB either, and he’s still done quite well

Why wouldn't he want to stay here, get the Cup games and collect a nice wedge with a few trophies?

Most players would sign up for that, wouldn't call it an "elite mentality" though.

He’s willing to stay and fight for his spot, when he easily could have left us for some lower tier PL/La Liga team and play every week

I don't see why he can't be tried in his actual position tonight, at least for some of the game.

Or, as Pep has said on numerous occasions that he can play at 6, try him there.
