Pep has worked wonders with Zinchenko, but opponents target the space behind him as a weakness.
Mendy makes just as many mistakes, but offers so much more in attack.

Mendy is a blunt (but effective) instrument with his fierce crosses, but Zin is equally effective in the attack with his football skills. Both bring good attacking options and for me, one is as good as the other. Both need to improve on their defensive shortfalls though

Some good some bad yesterday
The good outweighed the bad
He's only gonna get better
Sure pep will be getting into his head about sloppy play
he does try the defence splitting pass more than most and when it doesn't come off we are exposed
When it does come off we normally create a chance

Sorry mate but until Mendy gets back to full fitness he doesn't offer anything whilst out injured. I'm not feeling optimistic on him getting fit either. He has it to prove as well, especially in defensive positioning. I wish the lad well but I think this is his last season if he cannot regain fitness and hit the ground running.

It is in response to the post I was responding to.

But if you want to compare to other players, go do your homework before trying to point out the error of my post.

Zinchenko currently has the best pass completion of any full back in the league this season and is something like 12th best overall of players that have played a high number of minutes.

and he gave it away repeatedly yesterday and got Laporte injured as a result, so I don't really care beyond that.

He's got 90.6% pass completion and makes the third most passes in the team. The only midfielders that have given the ball away less this season are Rodri and Fern (playing CB).
Get out of here with all those facts... I'm here about my feelings :)

This guy again... I say I'm here about my feelings. What's with all these facts?

Can I just have my feelings please?

Truth in small doses.:)

Full back is one of the worst, if not THE worst, position to play and when you have a non-specialist there it can be a recipe for disaster. I think Zinky has worked wonders in that position but there are occasions when it is clear he is not a career full back. I thought yesterday he needed Joe Mercer to tell him, like he did with Harry Dowd, that the team in blue were his mates. I do like the attacking threat he brings 'cos he can slot a killer pass in with the aplomb of a midfielder which is his strength. Long may he stay injury free!
