Oleksandr Zinchenko - 2019/20 Performances

I'm not sure about his long-term future at the club. I really like his attitude, but I think his is a spot in the squad that could go to a non-homegrown CB.

We have 2 homegrown CB's coming through + John Stones, why would we want another?

David Silva (and possibly Fernandinho) will be leaving next summer, so that opens one or two non-HG slots in the squad.

Perhaps he’ll move into midfield next year and essentially be our fourth choice midfielder behind De Bruyne, Gundogan and Foden. Not sure how many minutes he’d actually get though.

In all honesty, he could well be the best substitute we have, he could do a job in several positions and sometimes that is what you need on the bench but it isn't really fair on what is a decent to very good footballer.

We have just given him a 5yr deal

He will go into our midfield as a #8/#6 option like Gundogan is.

Right now David, Phil, Bernardo and Kevin are not viable options as a #6, and with Dinho converted to CB and Rodri requiring rotation, Zinchenko will get games.

I think that's a given, yes.

He can always leave if he wants to.

Every great team has a utility player who gets the job done anywhere when needed but isn't necessarily good enough to nail down a starting spot in any 1 position.
