Oleksandr Zinchenko | Joins Arsenal for £30m

This is mostly true. Should've commanded £20m.

I think he's decent and has good potential, but it's unlikely we'll miss him or he'll become a great.

People always say this but if £16m is such a terrible price then why hasn't anyone else offered more? For a lower table premier league side, a proven solid performer from the championship might be a safer bet than someone who has only been given limited game time out of position.

The Maddison comparison isn't a great one. Sure he's been playing the championship but he's absolutely integral to that side. He's their best player and also English which commands a premium. I think Zinchenko did well when called upon and could bloom into a really decent player, but it's no secret there's going to be no room for him in our squad and we're not the club that will push him onto the next level. There's no guarantees at all he'll become a £40m player, although I really hope he does.

Definitely didn't say it was terrible - it's actually great business considering what we paid for him. I'm just being greedy and wanted us to get more based on other market values.

He's played very well this season. I'm surprised at this news especially as he was key for us for a few months when Delph and Mendy out.
Although he did do well for us when he played I'd hardly say he was a "key" player at any time, he only started 6 PL games plus another 2 as sub. If it wasn't for the lack of foreign spots I've little doubt he'd probably still be with us for the upcoming season but c'est la vie.

Seems to me like it would be a really good move for everyone.

I for one can't remember the last time I was this excited to see how a promoted team does, for me they have a very real chance of Europe.

That being said if he doesn't like Manchester much, just wait until February in Wolverhampton..........

It's a good deal for both clubs, and the lad. He did a creditable job in a position that he was never comfortable in. He's not going to get into our current midfield (still less, our imminent one) in a month of Sundays. If the price quoted is true I'd snap it up. I wish him nothing but the best.

If we want to strengthen our squad
by adding Jorginho and Mahrez
we need 2 foreign spots.
Yaya is out.
Who else than Zinchenko could be the other one to leave?

I like that lad as well but we have to move on and we have enough and homegrown cover at LB and even more so in midfield.

He would have gone last year if bloody Sanchez had arrived, and he was part of a great season.

We can cheer him wherever he is.

Exactly,
I have been saying the same thing, our squad is outstanding, just look at the players we have and the quality therin.
People need to remember that for every player we sign we have to lose one from our squad.
The days of us having deadwood are long behind us and so the question should be who from last seasons squad would we be prepared to let go?
The first two names that came to mind for me were Yaya and Zinch,
Now assume that we get Mahrez and Jorgino, lets fast forward 12 months who would we then look at releasing for any new signings?
It gets harder doesn't it, the club have an awesome plan ahead though due to the age spread in the team and my guesses would be Kompany, Bravo an Silva.
Every year these questions will get tougher.

Dave will play for awhile yet but Bravo/Komps are likely to be in the firing line along with anyone who is disgruntled.

Reported it is up to him if he wants to leave plus there is another club in for him but don’t know which club it is.
Isn't there a long standing interest in him from Napoli? I think they wanted him including in the Jorginho deal, but we wanted it as two separate deals.

He's a very good young player. It's just unfortunate that City haven't the time to allow young players to fully develop. If they're not already there or there about like Sterling, Sane & Jesus, we send them elsewhere to learn their trade.

I have no issue with this policy as long as we insert buy back clauses with these promising youngsters.
