He has been sensational so far in the Gulf Cup which is going on nowadays in Bahrain.

I had doubts about him especially after looking at his injury records and because he's from the Gulf which managed to produce only one player who succeeded in Europe (Ali Al-Habsi). Though, he totally proved that he's indeed a special talent that needs to grow more in the European leagues. His control, vision, passing, determination (and tracking back!) is a class above any Arab/Asian player I've seen in the recent years.

Can't see him playing for us in the PL, but we can buy him for cheap and sell him for profit to a French or Spanish club, he can shine there! :)
Agreed, watched the game against Bahrain today and he is sensational. Have heard that he is staying in Al Ain for a year and then will sign for us (from the day he rejected)

He is already nominated to be the best player in the whole tournament. He is at a different class compared to any other player in Asia and Arab countries. Him not having a serious offer so far from any European top team is beyond my belief!! I hope he gets snatched by one of those middle league teams and gets his full chance to prove his quality.

another great appearance by him vs Oman

he came as a sub in the 83rd minute with the score being 0-0, 3 minutes later, UAE scores 2 goals with him playing part of both goals.

game changer!

I was just watching UAE vs. Oman.

Minutes 80: Oman absolutely dominating. Then, Omar comes in as substitute. Within 5 minutes, UAE scores twice, two assists by Omar, and another assist by Omar that led to a red card for Oman... He is a magician.. Just search now Omar Abdulrahman on twitter. Everybody is going crazy about him!!

If we could get a work permit for him then it is worth taking a gamble on him.

His impressive pass

Nice. :)

Trying to figure out the UK's work permit rules.

The Scottish FA’s rules on work permit endorsements follow the same guidelines as previously outlined by the Home Office. For the SFA to give their approval, the player in question must have played 75 per cent of his nation’s competitive games – excluding friendlies – in the two years prior to the date of application.

Furthermore, the country the player is coming from must be in the top 70 of Fifa’s rankings. Failure to meet these requirements, unless it can be proven a player was unavailable for selection for a period of time, results in an automatic rejection of any application for an SFA endorsement for a work permit certificate of sponsorship.

OK, so we need the UAE to crack 70 and Omar to make 75% of his country's non-friendly games last 2 years to qualify automatically for a permit. I'm guessing he's made 75% of those game.

Says here UAE is currently 96

Will winning the Gulf Cup get them to 70?
