One song that genuinely changed your life

Jealous Guy - John Lennon.
Used to listen and cry to this often after a break-up as a fledgling horny teen, until I grew up a bit, and realised what a nob I was being to myself. Never look back.

I'd also say Handbags and Gladrags by Stereophonics, as this was around the time my first born came into my life - and it used to soothe her as she had heard it often while in the wifes belly.

Need A Lot Of Lovin' by Sweet ..... not a great song by any means, but it was the B side of the first single I ever bought, Blockbuster .... and got me into Hard Rock before I even knew it had a name ...

Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi.

I remember sitting on a ferry, just leaving Portsmouth heading for Cherbourg, watching the docks slowly disappear whilst this song was on my walkman. I was about to bugger off for a few weeks, which turned into a year and a bit, back packing around Europe and I felt the songs lyrics captured the moment.

All respect for you is now gone. No wonder they kicked you out of Canada.

In 2003 i left the woman id spent the last 10 yrs with because she wanted to get married but did'nt want children, i did so i walked out. The next 5 years we're a rollercoaster of drink, drugs, women and depression till i came out the other side better for it. Anyway this all started with me just getting into led zep and looking back this song reminds me of the start of it all and at the time the lyrics seemed to just fit with what i was feeling.

Buggering a moose no doubt.

Oasis - Be Here Now - the song, gave me a different attitude to life, thought i was Liam Gallagher, grew my hair, bought a parka - basically turned into a twat. But was great at the time.

Hearing Rat Race by the Righteous Brothers Band as I walked down the steps into The Pendulum club in Manchester for the first time....started me on a journey and love of Northern Soul that took me all over the UK and into a culture and lifestyle that will never be recreated again
