Operation One End

Anyone see the movement of the third tier when the Bayern fans were jumping around. Was visibly moving. I know there should be flex but I didn't think so visible.

Was looking from the South Stand Upper mate - was really visible !

I was in 221 - had to move seats because of the Bayern fans. EL3 was really moving up & down and I reckon that a lot of Blues in EL2 & EL1 may well have been a bit concerned. That alone may well have killed the idea stone dead. No doubt there will be a stress test up there today.

Operation One End last night failed to achieve its' objective. The atmosphere was no better (in fact maybe worse) than any other game.
That's a fact that no excuses about tourists etc can cover over.

If the Bayern fans had been in the normal SS Away section I reckon that the atmosphere may well have been a whole lot better. That's just the way it is at Eastlands. Chester Rd Blue has posted that the quality of the away fans' support dictates the quality of home fans' support. That is very true at our ground. Moving them into EL3 had a negative effect.

So guys, can we please put the idea of moving Away fans to EL3 to bed once and for all and let us loyal fans up there get back to normality ? The Club has tried it for you twice and it hasn't worked.

You've had your say, and it should now be consigned to the bin once and for all.

Maybe if and when the stadium is extended a provision can be made to accommodate Away fans in one of the corners. IMO that's the only thing that will resolve this issue.

At the majority of grounds in Europe away fans will be located as far away as possible from the home clubs "end" this never seems to stop a decent atmosphere being created.

I think a lot of British fans are too cynical and would sneer at someone with a megaphone trying to orchestrate the singing. In Europe they are in unison.

I remember a few years ago Inter fans protesting about the unfair treatment they believed they were receiving from the media, they boycotted the Milan derby. A whole end empty. Similar protests from Lazio, saw the Curva Nord refuse to celebrate any goals. Lazio scored five that day and they just stood

This would never happen in England. We know we can create a great atmosphere, I remember a game against Millwall when away fans were banned. There was no problem with the noise levels that night.

Is a large Ultra type group the answer? Maybe the second tier of the south stand could be their home?

I was all for it, but to be frank It didnt go down well, bring the away fans back.

the atmosphere was dire! the people they put in the away section are all johnny come latelys or boring fuckers who dont sing.

the atmospheres always shite doesnt matter where the away fans are

THIS

Maybe if we had the stand as majority actual city fans it would be good ? seriously though even with the away fans next to the home fans its still shit, the fans on the right of the away fans dont sing, just stand there with there arms folded, SOUTH STAND GIVE US A SONG

Ah those luverly Salford lasses!!!
God I miss em out here!!

Sat in normal seat (212) and atmosphere was terrible from the "One End"

At the moment we have a small singing section, this needs to improve both in size (extend it round to 109 or wherever the standing/sitting argument is) and quality...songs sung for longer and by all the stand.

That would be the first step to improving the atmospshere.

It was terrible not having away fans next to us in 212, we can't moan at the quality of football so we need away fans to moan at.

Well you could hear the Bayern fans loud and clear, we just don't get going, no passion in our bones.
Load of bollox on here about no vibe between fans, no banter, I can't have a shout at the away fans from the Colin Bell Stand but I can still shout and cheer my team.
You make the noise yourself by opening your gob and having a right old shout in unison for your team, not hard really, the Family Stand made more noise and moved more....Pathetic.
Try getting in the ground earlier..
And that smoke bomb..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
