Was looking from the South Stand Upper mate - was really visible !
I was in 221 - had to move seats because of the Bayern fans. EL3 was really moving up & down and I reckon that a lot of Blues in EL2 & EL1 may well have been a bit concerned. That alone may well have killed the idea stone dead. No doubt there will be a stress test up there today.
Operation One End last night failed to achieve its' objective. The atmosphere was no better (in fact maybe worse) than any other game.
That's a fact that no excuses about tourists etc can cover over.
If the Bayern fans had been in the normal SS Away section I reckon that the atmosphere may well have been a whole lot better. That's just the way it is at Eastlands. Chester Rd Blue has posted that the quality of the away fans' support dictates the quality of home fans' support. That is very true at our ground. Moving them into EL3 had a negative effect.
So guys, can we please put the idea of moving Away fans to EL3 to bed once and for all and let us loyal fans up there get back to normality ? The Club has tried it for you twice and it hasn't worked.
You've had your say, and it should now be consigned to the bin once and for all.
Maybe if and when the stadium is extended a provision can be made to accommodate Away fans in one of the corners. IMO that's the only thing that will resolve this issue.
