You don't remember his performance at home to Chelsea then? The pitch never looked wider.
He has come along way since that performance, he struggled at CB at the time too. As a rotation option, or as a late sub to pack the midfield he is as good as anyone

This is the best answer. The lack of a good CDM has been the subject of much debate on here, and demi does a decent job from what i have seen.

Could be the obvious answer...at 34 he will happily play ltd games i'd imagine, not wanting to risk injury before he moves at the end of the season, and can cover both CB/CDM.
 
Anyone else think that this could be a brilliant piece of business, giving them Mangala for a year or two?

We get an already established, top quality centre back who is at the top of his game.

Mangala goes to a very challenging league, playing for a very good club regularly, ironing out the flaws in his game, before coming back to us a better player.

Whats not to love?

The fact we don't actually know if Mangala is actually right (now) on-it for the premiership or if Otay will prove to b right-off the high line trick...so to speak.
