No we won't.

Pellegrini said 2 more players

We have 2 foreign player spots.

Assuming we actually want Zuculini, Otamendi would replace a foreign player anyway. so at most, we'd need to offload 1 player.

This would be the current situation if, as Tolmie stated, Otamendi was one of 3 possible signings to come in 'if we have enough money left', which is what i was referring to.

1 Willy 2 *Martin Demichelis* 3Aleksandar Kolarov 4Vincent Kompany 5 Eliaquim Mangala 6Bacary Sagna 7Pablo Zabaleta 8 Fernando 9 Fernandinho 10 Samir Nasri
11 Jesus Navas 12 David Silva 13 Yaya Toure 14Sergio Aguero 15 Wilfried Bony 16 *De Bruyne* 17....

Bruno Zuculini, Iheanacho, A.N Other, Otamendi

So if we get DeBruyne then in the Champions League we would currently have one space for 4 players. In the Prem, one space for 3 players as Kelechi counts as U21.

So two or three have to go.

The free kick Fern gave away, and from which Lambert nearly scored, came about directly as result of an atrocious Eli pass. Go back and take a look.

You mean indirectly? Fern stupidly went through the back of Gardner about 30 seconds after Mangala's atrocious pass.

Any truth in the reports coming out of Spain today? They seem adamant City are about to sign him. Valencia have pulled him from their CL squad...
It's on Marca's transfer timeline at 17:07 here http://www.marca.com/eventos/directo/2015/08/14/24222/asilovivimos.html
They've added to the Cadena Ser tweet from earlier that we are in pole position to sign him, with the option of Mangala going the other way on loan. Who knows?

Also on there at 17:28, it look like we've signed another young Spanish player, Erik Sarmiento from Espanyol. Link http://www.marca.com/2015/08/14/futbol/equipos/espanyol/1439566211.html

Zuculini also counts as U21 in the Prem. Born in Feb.

I think De Bruyne is the other player, by the way. . .

The plot thickens!.

No he doesn't. Has to have been UNDER 21 before 1/1/2015.

He was 21 so is a foreign player. We went through all this in the KDB and PP threads a while back before Dzeko and Jovetic left.

I have DeBruyne in the list.

No Zuculini doesn't count.

I think it was me who incorrectly started that rumour! ;)

He would need to be U21 before Feb but he was already 21, actually turning 22 in Feb.

OTAMENDI LATEST

Manchester City are keeping a “watching brief” on the future ofNicholas Otamendi, according to Sky sources.

One source has told us they have more than a passing interest, but following Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala's performance verses West Brom, it has been reduced to a "watching brief" and we're told there's been no bid.

However, Sky Sports' La Liga expert Guillem Ballague has been told that City did bid but not close to the £35m release clause.

I'm a bit torn on this one, on the one hand I do want us to stick with Mangala so he can prove all his doubters wrong and become a top player for us. On the other there's the fear that this might never happen and Otamendi is a fantastic player who would compliment Vinny really well.

Tough one

Not really we would be loaning them magala so if he performs well there we bring him back.

We're only linked with him because Valencia don't want to pay the balance of the Negredo money and see this as an opportunity to write it off.

Never going to happen.

Any ITK basis to this or is it all just speculation?

I've just got off the blower to pellers, said its all bollox doesn't like players who's second name begin with O.

Also said only clean shaven players allowed in his squad.

So it's a definite no. Not happening.
