Not seen much of him, what kind of centre back is he?( like a ball playing centre back or one to bully the opposition strikers?) is there any players you would compare him to in style?

He is both a bully & ball player if u want to compare him ....I'd say best bits of vinnie & demichelis

Twelve months ago and it was all about Mangala vs Benatia for our VK partnership. If this guy is all the rage, why was he never mentioned back then? In fact, how many of us here on this thread had actually heard of him at that time? I for one hadn't and although my knowledge of the game outside the UK and the major European clubs is limited, the fact that I'd never heard of him yet with him being touted now at stupid money just gives me the creeps.

It is because he has scored 6 goals. Yes had a good season but he's not a million miles ahead of the player he was 12 months ago.

He was a nothing special defender for Argentina who nobody had much interest in, then had a decent season in Spain, which nowardays= Baresi.

He could be a late developer, but he's basically been nothing special & judging by tye lack of interest in him, is still rated as such by many.

Perhaps City have spotted a gem, perhaps not.

No matter what you think of him or this signing, the fact he was on loan at Miniero is irrelevant. Valencia bought him and then got fucked over by not being able to offload a non-EU player. He just went back to Miniero because they weren't allowed to register him and he needed to stay match fit for the World Cup.

It's got nothing to do with how good a player he is, just administration bullshit. Not bei able to play him was quite a big blow to them.

I can see Vinny going down the admin side though, not coaching etc. obviously he's got his masters in business/economics and is one of the only players who regularly has something to say about FIFA etc.

Diego costa was loaned out to Rayo Vallecano during 2012...didn't prevent him becoming one of the most dangerous strikers in the world the following year.
