Other Fans City Fans Get On With

Your going to get dickheads in an away support of 200,000, 99% of them were sound and after living up there I can say in my experience most are pro City or Chelsea when it comes to English teams. Many Northern Irish Rangers fans seem to have a United love in though
Used to travel up a lot to Ibrox in the 90`s / 00`s but not so often these days . Most of the Rangers lads we knew were all City and came down quite often to Maine Rd and the Etihad . Selkirk had a big city following and we always got a nice welcome at the Rangers supporters club in Langholm on the way back home .

Super White Army. I can walk to Prenton Park but just can’t get in to the football as entertainment.
Friends who support Blackpool think Tranmere are c***s. Merseyside police offer no help or protection their view if your not prepared to fight you shouldn't have come.

Sheffield Wednesday?
Always had a small soft spot for them. Not entirely scientific but think probably because:
1) Was the first shiny/foil badge I got in Panini 85 sticker book
2) I liked their name as a kid
3) I loved Hillsborough as an away day
4) they beat reds in 91 LC final

But as others have said mainly Sunderland cos of 91 (loudest away fans I ever heard at Maine Road) and West Ham (my dad used to bang on that they were classy side in 60s).

I have always been conflicted about Everton fans. Back in the 1960s, when City were relegated I tended to hope that Everton would win as opposed to United, Liverpool, Burnley. Leeds, etc.

Then City drew Everton in the Cup QF in 1966. It was an epic tie, 0-0 at Maine Road, 0-0 at Goodison after extra time and a third match at Molineux with Everton winning 2-0. They were due to play United in the SF.

On the way out we encountered a group of Evertonians. I shouted out 'best of luck in the semi-final' (against United) to them. One turned around and told me to 'piss off'.

Everton did beat United and went on to win the cup against Sheffield Wednesday.

As I live in Bournemouth I do have a bit of self-preservation in mind, but their fans are pretty sound in comparison to most. Only a small ground but their vocal support and atmosphere on match days is hard to beat, and they were mostly very respectful when I managed to sneak a hospitality package to watch City earlier in the season.
I've got Bournemouth mates, they're decent fans, probably so friendly as they have no rivals! Since getting in the prem, they have tried to get a rivalry going with Saints....but even while in league 1 & championship, Saints have totally ignored them, they see them as relevant as Carlisle are!! They are like the clingy Billy no mates, that Saintts & Pompey ignore and blank........even though Bournemouth are better.

I get along with anybody that isn't a ****. That includes Arse, Spurs, Rags, Dippers, Villa, Everton. Surprisingly though, none of them support Sligo Rovers.
All good lads.

Tranmere are a family club. They wanted nothing to do with Awaydays when it was filmed.

I’m often around when they’re playing and there wasn’t even trouble against Wrexham. Dennis in the pub supports Blackpool and he’s fine with them.
