Our biggest ever game?

Gillingham for me. If we'd lost that one we'd be fucked. Lose the chumps league qf and we've lost nothing.

Has gone down in history as a huge fallacy.

We were not fucked, the supporter base and money into the club would have seen us stick it out for a while longer. It was more the relief of avoiding another year in that division.

We were much closer to financial meltdown during Thaksin, when only John Wardle loaning £2m to cover wages over the Christmas period saved us.

Wardle would have simply come to the club much sooner if the Gillingham result had turned out differently.

How can a 3rd Division play off final be a bigger game than a European Cup Quarter final?
In terms of glamour of course the Champs league is but if your talking about a game that changed the course of our destiny then the Dickov goal was in the most important game in the clubs history, without a doubt. As the now familiar saying goes we could've easily have been another Wolves, Sheff Weds, Forest or Leeds.

Its certainly a big game but I dont know anyone who has said it's the biggest ever.

Still the Derby with vinny's goal for me... Never felt anything as electric that night, it was the dawning of the era.. I've been to all the mentioned games, nothing comes close and what it actually meant, buried those bastards and all they stood for!!!

For the simple reason if we lose tomorrow night it doesn't change much,Pep will still come, the owners won't walk away and we will still advance all aspects of the club albeit with a slight hiccup.
If we failed to beat Gillingham the long term consequences might have been disastrous and resulted in a Leeds type scenario.
For me tomorrow doesn't even get in top 5
