Our Suarez ...... not the racist one :)

If he was to get a promise of opportunities with the first team here he should stay. Seems silly to go to Barca and join the other ten future Xavi and Iniestas in their academy. If it is his dream to play for Barca it would make sense to stay and then go there later on, similar to Fabregas. If Alcantara makes a name for himself at Bayern, once Guardiola has finished his stint there I am sure he would look to return to the Nou Camp as well. Depends on what promises are made to him from either side. He is probably just as likely to feature here as he is there but he probably values the opportunities there more.
Perhaps but he'd probably made up his mind under Mancini to leave already. He expected chances during the period of the team's flailing last season but was consistently overlooked, and when you're in that state of mind and Barca come calling you there is only one option you are going to take.

Awful timing with his contract situation too, if he had more than one year to go we'd almost certainly have forced him to stay, by which time he may have experienced the opportunities he craved and have forgotten about wanting to leave anyway.

Guillem Balague ‏@GuillemBalague 4h
Guys, help me here. Where did Balague say Bale wasnt going to go to Madrid 4 sure? I cant find it anywhere! :-) #notoveryet

Never trust someone that refers to themselves in the third person.

I think Deulofeu is one of his best mates also so at that age would be a big factor, nevermind the fact Barca is Barca and Manchester is not Barcelona. For him it will probably be a great move for him and help his development but it'd be sad to lose him.

Id imagine it was a large factor him being best mates with deulofeu

Gone for a paltry £1m

£1.3million according to better sources than the Mail, but still low (though a profit). Have to hope there is some future sell-on clause included but wouldn't get my hopes up for that as with Suarez's contract soon to end, Barca will have had us cornered.

Can't say as I'm that arsed to be honest. Never looked more than an undeniably talented, but one paced lightweight to me. There are younger players at other clubs who look far more Premiership ready (Sterling, Barkley, Shaw) than Suarez. He may make the grade, but not convinced it's a given by any means. Take the money and use it as a down payment on Bruma please.......

He had a couple of outings last season and disappointed......I think one game was Villa at home in the League Cup.

Is Pozo back yet? He looked a very good prospect

Pozo is still recovering from injury.

Barcelona pay 1.8M for City's Denis Suarez. 1M now, 0.8M when promoted. Incentives of 0.8M for every 10 games with first team, max 8M [rac1]
If he's successful we'll do ok out of it, if he's not then he'd never have made it here anyway i suppose.

Not a prayer he would have made an impact on our first team any time soon if at all.

He never looked like he was complete package being far too inconsistent and lacking true commitment.

We have better talents at the club,he wont be a loss.

I'm not sure Barcelona themselves believe in the likes of Suarez and last year, Roman.
They buy them back cheap, let them develop with the B-team, gain some exposure and will then sell them to make a profit in a few years time. Good business.

people better get used to us selling youth players. in a years time we'll have 400 academy members running around the training grounds... there will be a lot of them sold ( even the ones we dont want to sell sometimes ) or released.
