fucking hell .The fucking team was lightweight. It was a piss poor performance.

Agreed, but I was answering a specific point on YaYa. Being called a bell end for saying that he was lightweight doesn't stack up due to the fact that today he was.
not just yaya the whole team was'nt playing to there potential. they were playing crap.

As much as I'd like to get my post count up a couple of hundred by going round in circles, I've answered this point once, not sure what else to say mate.

Don't know what's happened with your fans to be honest, used to be a fairly vocal bunch but were appalling today. Posted on the match thread but I can only think of the Emirates and the Ricoh Arena where the home fans have made less noise. What do you put it down to? Recent glory supporters and tourists that will any sing if you're 4-0+ up?

No, not really. We have a fairly old match-going fan base, I believe the oldest in the league, and I'd guess the majority have gone for years. That in itself might be part the reason, some (or many...) older fans losing the energy/urge to sing (not that all of them are the same mind you, before some cranky old timer bites my head off :P).

Whatever happened with "the Citizens"?... Fair play to them, they went to the EDS game last season vs Juve... Sang and got recognition from MCFC official twitter page and some of the players...

It was there first time... it was a hit and miss occasion... and to be fair they pulled it off despite some arrogant fuckers trying to put them down on here... giving them grief.... Now i bet its those same people who are begging for something to be done about our support...

Today was shit... no ifs or buts.. it was Utter Shite...

we have all these great groups of lads with the same intention - to better the atmosphere...

So... Whats the problem?... I personally think people dont like "change" ... They dont want to adopt this "ultra" style of support as some may think " ohh eyy what are these bellends trying to prove with a drum" ... im not saying a drum is the answer to our shit home support But looking at Palace today... i fear them coming to the Etihad and embarrassing us ...and us going there and not being able to be heard... And yes... They have adopted the "ultra" style of approach... and it works...

We need to form a singing section... and safe standing first.. its the only way...

^ this.

But the only problem is, are we gonna have safe standing and a singing section? The only way we can have a 'singing section' is if we have the whole of southstand when the stadium gets expanded.

Maybe this is something we can talk to the club about at the meeting next week? Or we could talk to them about lowering ticket prices, that way like-minded city fans can sing throughout the game non stop, e.g. Hamburg!

This is a bit drastic, but in all honesty the only hope is the expanded South Stand, and only if the away fans are moved.

That will open up the current 3 away blocks and create at least 1or 2 genuine singing blocks/sections.

Once again I would like to put forward the *1894 season ticket*. A season ticket for fans who want to stand and sing together, in 1 or 2 of the current away blocks., if that ever happens?

A season ticket with a £10 levy that would go towards flags, banners, displays etc.

If we could get 500 or 1000 fans together in those blocks who want to sing for long periods of the game, regardless, then we might be able to get the rest of the South Stand, as well as the rest of the stadium singing.

Until that situation comes about, if it ever does, we are stuck with the current setup. :-(
Count me in :) £10 levy is fair enough but why don't the club help fund the banners it's only promoting their own brand after all

It'd be nice if we could get South Stand all safe standing, move the away supporters to the new North Stand tier and have the South Stand designated for those who want to sing and make noise. Make it a bit like Borussia Dortmund's "wall of yellow", just it'd be blue of course

Our supporter base is changing , and as previously stated on this thread , it is not a working class game anymore , we are attracting new supporters who want to be "entertained" , they want excellent facilities bars, food, toilets, plasma tv's , and the best superstars in their team.
Its not just our club , arsenal, rags, chelski ,spuds etc are all attracting the new supporter , who wants instant success , and as a supporter of a certain age , the success we have had will be unforgettable , but i dont enjoy watching Manchester City Football Club more now than I did at Maine Road when we won fuck all .
But to put things in perspective my 8 year old grandson loves it , big star players , great facilities , great views and a very safe environment , and I admit i now pick and choose my games because of the cost , I spend the between £150-£200 on a match day , paying for my grandson, parking, beers, food, programme, visit to the club shop etc ,
Watching my club now is a day out , at Maine Road i just "went to the match" and spend £50 , and i used to shout so much in the Kippax i lost my voice after the game , i dont sing as much now because i try to watch my language with my grandson present (not always succesfully) our traditional supporters are getting older and less vocal , apologies for the length of this little rant.

I sit on level 1 in CB 121 and I'd love nothing more to stand during the game. We stand when we're on the break or a corner I try to stay standing but the tuts and "sit down please" soon get you back on your arse.

Very true.

Where I sit now you are more likely to hear someone talking about last nights Eastenders than you are to hear a song!

Yep couldn't agree more. The atmosphere is always dire unless we're playing the so called 'top four'. It was embarrassing today being out sung by only a small allocation of Hull fans.

Agreed. Seems we are only prepared to sing when we're winning!! The team need us to gee them up - no different from any other team. Listening to the Palace fans tonight, they never stopped - even when Sunderland equalised. There are too many fans around me who just moan and criticise all game. If we are struggling, the player is shit but suddenly, if same player scores he's great. Some fans are just plain spoilt or ignorant. It's no excuse to say the players aren't giving us anything to sing about - its a two way thing.

And whilst I'm having a rant - no mention of the fact that our World Class goalkeeper has kept 2 out of 3 clean sheets. If it's his fault when we concede a goal then the clean sheets are also down to him.

Basically, it's depressing to hear some of our fans nowadays. What's it all about!!!
