Do Manchester City do enough to keep our fans on board? The platinum/gold points doubling divide has upset me and others alot.

Would you have preferred that they just raise everybody's season ticket by £50?

I don't think it has anything to do with the stadium, standing, alcohol or type of membership, the atmosphere is generated by people and there are plenty of passionate fans going to the Etihad, sober, lashed or somewhere in between. There have been plenty of great days and atmospheres, the game against Newcastle a few years back was electric and we were only 'good' then !! Obviously other games have been fantastic too so it can't just be the stadium. All I can say is give it the City war cry next game and do it often, shut them up, let's do the Poznan and if there are some catchy and high tempo new songs lets get them on here!

Wrong!

Have you ever been to anything with people present?
Concerts in our stadium is an example... on the pitch are thousands of people stood up dancing, singing and making noise.
In the stands are a good amount of people dancing and singing, but most are sat down in their seats watching the Band/Artists as though they are sat at home with the Tv. awful.

I've been to all kinds of events and some I've not been able to get standing so have opted for the seated areas and they have been dismal. Start singing or dancing? many people turn and look with disapproval... But only a few yards away are thousands of people stood up near to the stage dancing away.

Standing is a key ingredient in improving atmosphere in all kinds of events. Safe standing is the solution for Football and maintaining safety standards.

We expect passion from our players yet fail to show it ourselves.

Most of these players we have signed come from this fan culture and have played in stadiums packed full of stood fans creating noise.
They sign for City and walk into a stadium packed full with 46,000 people all sat down, arms folded, kids on the ipads, with 1,200 actually stood up making noise.

No wonder they don't applaud us.

Yeah, definitely more of an inclination to sing when you're stood up as it's easier to express yourself. Yet the ShowSec security are trying to get 1 of the only 2 'singing' areas to sit down for 90 minutes. Did anyone actually raise this point at the meeting yesterday? The constant battle between ShowSec (armed with a notebook and pen, a silent threat of bans) and 109 is hardly helping the atmosphere when it's supposed to be the 'SINGING section'. More than half of 109 was sat down for much of the Hull game so ShowSec may be winning the battle. You watch, they will let everyone stand up for the derby and the next week it will be the shrill "SIT DOWN PLEASE!" for 90 minutes.

You know what... it wasn't mentioned about Showshit and their constant whining to get Blues to sit down.
I've moved from 109 and happily remain stood for 90m which is why I probably forgot.
Also the new security guy was not present as he was abroad sorting out the security of a stadium we'll be playing in soon.

You don't half put some WUMming bollocks on this forum
I'm not sure it's wumming when a City fans who hasn't missed a competitive game home or away for twenty years didn't have sufficient points for Cardiff because he refused to go Platinum. Not spoke to the guy to confirm it but I got it from a very good friend of his.
The Gold v Platinum sets fan against fan so can't be good in general. Likewise the cup schemes which reward half-price home tickets with huge numbers of points compared to high price Prem away games.
Trouble is so many fans aren't arsed about the earlier rounds of the cups so the choices are dragging fans in via dodgy schemes or playing in front of empty seats. It's strange how the JCLs also seem immune to the attractions of the earlier rounds of the cup.

No Why Always Ste, I have never been anywhere with other people present. I am the original invisible man and everyone else was invisible too. What is your point? As has has been acknowledged, there HAS been a terrific atmosphere at lots of games at the Etihad and there WILL be at future games too. Nothing about the stadium has changed, seats haven't suddenly appeared, it just boils down to whether people are up for it or not and whether some new songs take off. Only 1200 people ever did the Poznan then.......sitting down??? Anyway, I'm off out. On my own of course and where no-one else is going to be

On the plus side, our numbers are great; we always turn up when needed and always fill the away allocation.

Unfortunately, in my opinion we don’t earn the team any points. The stadium isn’t a fortress, it isn’t intimidating and we're very quiet unless things go our way. People might not like it but at home, our fans are shocking, simple as that. Today was like an Arsenal game, silence - expecting a goal. If not lets moan, groan and have a tantrum.

The team needs backing, 1,000 fans singing in the corner is not enough.
Spot on ,it's getting me down !

we need cheerleaders.

No but get a band. People worry about a drummer when the atmosphere continues to go down hill.

If everyone on her who claims to get behind the team did then we would have a good atmosphere
