Palace v City post match thread.

I will probably get accused of being a rag again by the brain dead drongo who pm'ed me slagging me off for my comments after the Burnley game but here goes...

Pellegrini may be "This Charming Man" but "Heaven knows I'm miserable now" after that performance. As for our title defence, "I know it's over" and it has been for some time. Some of our players have played like they are "Asleep", Yaya and Dzeko being 2 of the biggest culprits. "What difference does it make?" If we finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th? We should be winning trophies every year, not settling for CL qualification. "This night has opened my eyes" as to how far away we are from ever winning the champions league, the best teams don't need luck to win games v mid table opposition.

A great football manager once said football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that and "Frankly Mr Shankly" you are spot on. Having witnessed the triumphs of the 2 title wins I find it hard to take that we sit below a poor united team in the table.
It is not time to "Panic" just yet, but a heavy defeat at the swamp could raise doubts over our ability to hang on to a top 4 place.

With season ticket renewals going our recent performances are not inspiring me to renew. But " there is a light that never goes out" for me when it comes to City. When will I renew? "How soon is now?"!

I am about certain that many of these posters just desperately hope to see an appalling, catastrophic result merely so they can come on here and slag Pellers for, what? Failure to be Roberto Mancini and failure to clone Jimmy Lad Milner four times and play them all in a packed midfield I guess.

That said, the man seems a class act and did a fantastic job last year. But seems to have utterly lacked a plan B to basically the same tactics being played against us all season.

And five Jimmy Lad Milners or not, the glacially slow tippy tappy sideways shite has not been working for a long time. Do I pretend to know what is the answer? No, because I am an internet poster. But someone sure as fuck needs to have an answer and an alternative approach because it like a depressing rerun week after week in watching us this year.
Good post is that :)
Hang on - he asks why people are slagging Pellegrini off in the first paragraph , in a manner suggesting a defence of the manager, then graphically answers that very question in the next two paragraphs!

We are getting exactly what we deserve. We have a great owner and that's about it. When Mancini was in charge we were organised and became winner's. He was judged on his CL record when every neutral journalist and pundit said we had the group of death twice. Didsbury Dave and other's slagged him of from the outset, but DD doesnt run the club. Where was our reaction when we saw a manager who has and will win more than Pellegrini, being fucked over the envious Khaldoon and two spivs from Barcelona? Nothing. We all seemed happy with the following notion that the players feelings were more important than having a well drilled team that will vary tactics and exploit opponents weaknesses. We still feel we shouldn't say, or do a thing because of our owner, but it isn't our owner is fucking it up. I'm sure that people are going to say get a grip, would throw that back and say we have got a grip of anything. We should have backed Mancini and bought two of his main targets and we would have likely been looking at 3 titles on the trot and a 4th this year. Instead we have a *anker for a DOF when therags have shown that the best way to go is the best manager you can find and back him to the hilt. We were happy pandering to the players sensitive nature's when they should have been told to shut the*uck up.

Absolutely spot on.

We are using United as the yardstick, really?

Moyes negates the manager argument. As for not pandering to players...Rooney?

Seriously he had 5 seasons to weed out the player's who weren't reliable and the rest is istory. Show me a club that has come from also rans to success that hasn't had a top rate manager who took them there and has answered to anyone other than the board? That's right you can't. It's only in a post Bosman world that DOF have become fashionable. We aren't and established club, despite what we might like to think. Do we even remotely look like a EPL winning team, let alone a CL winner? Sorianos holistic bollocks is simply that and utter contempt he has for us was shown withe the Dubai trip before The Boro game a pair of merchant bankers who Khaldoon foolishly put in charge. We have no need of an average manager, average coaches and a average DOF pulling the strings. We need a manager who we make clear has the final say and get rid of the scum bags.

is there anyone in this entire forum who though having two up front with navas and clichy trying and failing to supply them was the right thing to do.

we should of started with milner and played one up front, and nasri instead of navas.

sack him now and put paddy in charge with brian kidd.

Nasri instead of Navas?? Are you having a laugh. Navas is far from good enough don't get me wrong but when was the last tine Nasri did anything. He's an absolute disgrace and should never have the privilege of pulling on that blue shirt ever again.

When Nasri is the solution I dread to think what the problem is!!

the only goal came off Nasri move

Nasri's move? Did he put Yaya through with a defence splitting pass that Yaya couldn't miss or did he pass it sideways and let Yaya let rip from the edge of the box? Come on for fusks sake. The lazy spoilt twat does nothing for the team. What did you think of him when he tried to get himself sent off after 35 minutes against Barca at home when he assaulted Naymar. A premier league players physique tells you all you need to know about his character and Nasri has got more chins than me.

It's so frustrating isn't it? We weren't terrible tonight and played well a lot of the time but we simply couldn't turn possession into goals or even shots on target. Plus we had the usual run of decisions going against us and hit the post yet again.

But it's that not being able to turn possession into shots/goals that is worrying. Sergio is having a miserable time of it, Silva will not shoot more often than not even though we know he can, Yaya will at least have a go but some of his efforts were laughable tonight and Dzeko is...well....Dzeko.

Fernandinho for giving a stupid foul away and Yaya for ducking his head when jumping in the wall.

Still why the fuck did he give him the whole goal to aim at?
Attacking move broke down beforehand because of who???
His name begins with E.

Fucking hell Richard Edghill still getting the blame !!

What's that have to do with Hart giving Puncheon a full goal to aim at?
The second goal wouldn't have happened if EDIN dzeko was a technically better footballer.the kind of forward top European clubs have.
As for it being joe harts fault!!!
Goalkeepers have one side of the net and the wall covers the other side.
If the free kick is hit near perfect then it goes in.
Deary me.
