Palace v City post match thread.

It's so frustrating isn't it? We weren't terrible tonight and played well a lot of the time but we simply couldn't turn possession into goals or even shots on target. Plus we had the usual run of decisions going against us and hit the post yet again.

But it's that not being able to turn possession into shots/goals that is worrying. Sergio is having a miserable time of it, Silva will not shoot more often than not even though we know he can, Yaya will at least have a go but some of his efforts were laughable tonight and Dzeko is...well....Dzeko.
Agree with all of above,as for aguero more worried why he is having to come deeper and deeper for the ball at times,he's a striker not a midfielder.....

Attacking move broke down beforehand because of who???
His name begins with E.

What's that have to do with Hart giving Puncheon a full goal to aim at?
The second goal wouldn't have happened if EDIN dzeko was a technically better footballer.the kind of forward top European clubs have.
As for it being joe harts fault!!!
Goalkeepers have one side of the net and the wall covers the other side.
If the free kick is hit near perfect then it goes in.
Deary me.

Agree. How can the 2nd goal be Joes fault?

He set the wall up exactly how it should have been and covered the half of the goal he should have been covering. It was a combination of shocking defending by the wall and a great effort by the Palace player. Thought Joe did well to get as close to it as he did

The biggest concern is that this has happened on a regular basis and what is the certainty will even try to rectify the problems in the summer and who will be in charge?

its surely naïve to leave all the blame at the managers door the simple fact is last year he was tossed up in the air by them and this year he has been hung out to dry for all our possession did Speroni come off the pitch sweating buckets like the late Bernard Manning after his 30 min bout of piss taking Yes we did dominate but surely with all that possession it speaks volumes that our best player was a full back ...Clichy

Shove ya deary me up your ass. Hart was stood on the other post when freekick was being taken it's a Goal keeping error. I couldn't give a shit who gave the freekick away it should have been saved. Hart gave Puncheon a goal to aim at and he took aim.

It would have hit the wall had Yaya not ducked out of the way.

I don't believe we did play well. We played a lot, and that's a different matter.

Playing well means putting the ball in the back of the net. That's the entire object of the game. Struggling to do that means we didn't play well in my book.

I do understand that we've looked worse during plenty of other games (and on occasion actually won), but we are suffering for Arsenal (of old) disease and trying to pass the ball into the net.

There's just not much variation in our play. It's highly predictable.... get to the edge of the penalty box and pass it around for a while in a vain attempt to be 'creative' - all the while allowing the opposition to get men behind the ball.

We don't break rapidly in numbers, arguably because we don't have pace in numbers. On the rare occasion we do get a half decent break, it goes out wide, whilst we wait for reinforcements to arrive, then play it back inside and start passing it around the edge of the box as per usual.

One the VERY rare occasion we put a cross in, it's sky high over Aguero's head (not that he stands much chance in the air) or it's 100mph across the box before anybody's had chance to arrive.

7 out of 10 games it's enough to win. But 3 out of 10 times it's failing which is too often to win a league consistently.

The penalty box is NOT a place we need to play football around... it's a place we need to get INSIDE. Once inside, a shot, or a foul (pen) might be possible. GET IN THE BOX, and take it from there lads, don't get to the edge of it, and wait.
