I've just watched a video of slaughtered Palestinian children, some actually cut in half. Actually quite surprised at the person that posted it whom it would appear is so aghast at the horror that he felt the need to. 77% of people dead are civilians 15 in one family alone.........its a fooking disgrace.

But the Israelis have given the Palestinians time to get out and evacuate before they run the next massacre.

The problem is of course where to run to...they don't have anywhere to run to.

Yet the domestic audience, apart from a minority of fanatics on both sides, would happily settle for peaceful co-existence.

But the point is that one minority of fanatics have control of a very advanced military machine which they use to bully kill and slaughter.

And could you stop insinuating that if a poster infers that very fact that they are sloganistic.....it's a silencing tactic that's becoming boring.

Anyone who doesn't want peace for any country doesn't want what's best for that country and ideally peace in this conflict would be marvellous wouldn't it? But that just isn't going to happen any day soon when you have a very effective USA funded military machine bearing down on what is in all respects a captured population.

I don't really have any feelings for either side in this dispute, it seems this conflict will go on forever, but I can't understand your point here are you saying to resolve the problem Israel should do away with its modern well equipped armed forces allowing them to fire home made rockets petrol bombs and rocks at the Palestinians, Just how will that solve anything.

I wouldn't have Israel do away with its military at all I would just like the Israelis to not kill civilians in the numbers that they do.

They do have an effective military but the blase way a mature state uses that kind of military power against people trapped in the firing line is shocking.

And it isn't going to happen when you have fanatics on the other side who, for 65 years, have been threatening to wipe out Israel and the Jews who live there. But you just seem to think that, for no good reason, the Israelis decided to launch an attack against the poor Palestinians last week. I simply don't agree with what Netanyahu is doing and consider him the most small-minded of those small-minded Israeli leaders. Even Begin and Sharon had more imagination than he did. But the truth is more complex and wide-ranging than a big bully oppressor attacking a defenceless opponent for no reason.

And when I see some evidence that you recognise that, then I'll stop accusing you of arguing in slogans. But I've yet to see that and even Damocles, who is no Zionist, told you that you simply don't explain yourself. I'm not expecting anyone to say that the Israelis are right, as even I don't believe that. But I do object to people who think this whole conflict started last week, the week before or with the Intifada.

I'm not saying that this conflict started last week and I have said that I believe Hamas to be an organisation with unrealistic and cruel objectives.

All I and others are saying is that somewhere down the line a sledgehammer is being used to crack a walnut here and so many civilians do not have to die (I would feel exactly the same if those civilians were Israeli).

I do, and I think Hamas firing rockets into a civilian population is wrong......but we know that you cannot remove an ideology just with force you have to win the minds of the population and not enough is done to bring this to fruition.

If you have ever read any of my posts about extremists then you would garnish from them that I have very little time for them.

This includes HAMAS.....it's the death of these civilians that bother and irk me.

Isreal has one of the best intelligence networks on the planet and also one of the best counter terrorist units. They could easily use these and minimise civilian deaths instead of firing from a distance not that I for one minute am a sympathiser. Decent Jewish people are outraged by this.
