Paqueta Charged By The FA.

Maybe my view is biased by the fact that I have no faith in football authorities to be fair and honest. I see football authorities to be a group of imbeciles who will attack anyone if they think it looks good in the media.

But I can't see those clips as clear evidence of anything... even if they are correlated with betting patterns.

Imo this should be either a police matter or no action taken.
Not sure anybody would disagree with that.
But football makes a lot of money from the betting industry so that industry calls the shots.

And the one thing that the FA have always done in the past, is make sure they have a multitude of indisputable evidence before they charge a player with gambling offences.

In fact one criticism they have faced is letting the likes of Toney carrying on playing and gambling when they are well aware of the situation, before they’re happy they have enough and go public.

I appreciate parallels could be drawn here with those saying there must be something in 115 charges.

But specifically on this issue, I can’t recall a single case where they’ve brought charges and the player hasn’t been absolutely banged to rights when the evidence is highlighted.

Betway's systems triggered this alert. The circumstantial evidence will be in those systems and I suspect it will be pretty overwhelming. We all know how much bookies hate to lose!

If people on Paqueta Island barely place any bets on Premier League yellow cards and then all of a sudden there's a flurry of them on the games where Paqueta got booked, he's toast. They've clearly been far too obvious about it to trigger those alerts so quickly.

No doubt I’m not the first to say bang goes his move to City. What a silly boy. He denies it but I think he will lose.

If he has done this what a fucking clown
Why..

He's obviously earning a stupid amount of money .
Why would he need to be so greedy to risk his career for a few extra quid
He might not have made any money out of it. He’s not betted personally.

If guilty, he’s spot fixed and given information to people in his home town for them to win money.

It’s far more serious than what Toney and Tonoli did. It’s illegal and could send him to prison as well as a lengthy football ban.

I don’t think it was for him, I think his pals back home were betting on him getting booked in a game and he obliged.. the dick. He could have just given em some money if he was that arsed.
Anyway that’s his move to us fucked.. NEXT!

Tim Vickery was on earlier. He seems to think the lad is in deep trouble. He sounded gutted about it, and talked of how the betting culture is relatively new in Brazil, but rife and growing.
