Paqueta Charged By The FA.

Paqueta to be cleared. Could Paqueta/West Ham go after the FA? The case scuppered an £85m move and will has clearly caused damages....

That is mental. He was on the verge of coming here - with no doubt an increase in wages, would’ve won a PL and a substantial fee for West Ham - until the charges. To then be cleared of any wrongdoing a couple of years later.

He must be fucking fuming!

I feel a large lawsuit will be hitting the FAs carpet in the coming days.

Ring any bells?

At the time of charging him, The FA said that Paqueta tried to "influence the progress, conduct, or any other aspect of, or occurrence in these matches by intentionally seeking to receive a card from the referee for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market in order for one or more persons to profit from betting." He was also charged with failing to comply with their investigation.

But Paqueta said at the time: "I am extremely surprised and upset that the FA has decided to charge me. For nine months, I have cooperated with every step of their investigation and provided all the information I can.

FA are a complete clownshow. And that’s an insult to clowns.

Not one to stick up for the FA but iirc they waiting on the Basilian FA If they there was legitimate evidence to press charges then they had every right to do so if that scuppered any transfer I don’t see how he could claim compensation

Or perhaps he's going to be declared guilty.
Late last night West Ham posted that the FA are "about to make a decision", no mention of the outcome.

incredible how long this took. we were about to sign him like August 2023. almost 2 years later we find out he was completely innocent? well done FA.
I dont believe this is hugely complicated case that needs to take long months or years.

What an absolute shambles. Murder cases have been tried faster than this fgs! And after all that the FA decide they were talking nonsense all along. Why is it every "authority" on the planet seems to be run by utter lunatics nowadays!?

Surely the FA need to take action based on the evidence at their disposal. If the Brasil FA have evidence and decide to charge him then he has a case to answer - in Brasil.

If the English FA don’t have the evidence then what exactly are they basing their decision to charge on?

If the English FA have charged based on nothing more than “there’s no smoke without fire - if the Brasil FA have charged then we should too” then it’s an absolute disgrace.

It’s made exponentially worse when you consider the English league is where Pacqueta earns his money so the damage is huge.

No doubt Pacqeta will be taking legal advice. Unfortunately the FA rules probably give them protection that “they had to investigate”, but I hope Pacqeta takes them to the cleaners.

In theory, if he is indeed cleared, he could def do that but interestingly, if it can be proven that a deal was firmly on the table, so could his club and ours. lol. That would be funny tbh.

At this rate it won't be long until the pl becomes a source of income for the legal profession instead of football.

He has been hung out to dry. How could the FA make such serious allegations based on heresay. Sounds like the PL case with us. It’s why we need independent regulation. Criminal allegations have to go to the CPS. The FA has destroyed his career.

Shambles, not arsed if he stays or goes now- he was out this world when he joined and fell off a cliff and been dreadful , can’t see him returning to form. Get rid.
