Parking Charge Notice advice

I was joking btw @bluemanchester , the law has changed, you need to pay it or you could worm out of it by saying you wasn't the driver, your missus was for example and they will reduce it back down to £60 when they send her the notice

Unless it's issued by the police or the council it's not even a legal ticket.
I'm sure the letter you receive is àn invoice and not a fine if that makes sense!
I'd ignore it mate, imho if it's not the police or council who are issuing it then I'd bin it.

Regardless of a council PCN or private ticket we should all appeal, If you were a chancer and got caught with your purple trews down then still appeal on whatever grounds you can muster.Everyone has the right of appeal so use it well and make the cnunts dance for their money.

Look at the PCN closely for any mistakes from the issuer. Is the VRM correct..is the PCN code the correct one for the contravention. Was the street or car park listed correcly. Can the council actually substantiate you were on the C/P in question by the photographs taken. Are they able to prove with landmarks that you were on their premises.Did you actually pay and your ticket fell off the screen. You should not be held accountable for non sticky stickers. Is the vehicle the correct make or colour quoted on the PCN.Was the PCN signed. Were associated time plates in situ and street lines visible enough.

Again even if you were caught fairly then appeal. If you appeal and lose you only pay the reduced fee.Their systems could not handle the demand if everyone appealed. You have nothing at all to lose.Contrary to popular opinion it's not about keeping our streets clear and manageable but all to do with local authorities increasing revenue.Appeal appeal appeal..It's all just a game.

Just asking if anyone has advice on my situation regarding a parking charge. In Stockport I went into my bank where there is a private service road with parking charges. I didnt buy a ticket as usually, although not shown anywhere, you get 10 minutes with no problem. In my case there was a queue in the bank and my stay was 13 minutes. A few days later I received my first letter which I did not reply to. Two weeks ago I received a second letter saying they will take me to court or debt collection. The charge is £100. Any kind soul got any advice on how to get out of it. The company is based in Liverpool.

I personally wouldn't recommend ignoring it. Since Parking Eye vs Beavis in 2015 things are a lot more awkward, but still win-able if you apply yourself properly.

See links below for more information:

Also Moneysavingexpert and Pepipoo have current up to date advice on how to proceed.

My advice (and having done this successfully myself) is to offer the cost that would have been charged for a twenty minute stay. Send a cheque with an accompanying letter. The letter should be titled “without prejudice offer”. That way, you are not admitting any liability. Debt collection is a nonsense - the only way a debt collecctor would be involved would be if the ticket was pursued by them through small claims court, the court found you guilty and you still didn’t pay. Theey use a lot of hyped jargon to make you feel scared etc. It’s all bollocks. a cheque for £5 and see what they say. No way would I pay the full charge, I’d fight all the way and let them take me to small claims - they very, very, very rarely do this - it costs them more than the ticket.

Ignore the fucking lot. When and if the bailiff turns up tell him to fuckoff and pretend you are polish.

As johnnytapia says once bailiffs are involved there has been a court order against you.

Do not ignore then.

You won’t get out of it and costs will just escalate.

After all this time I have now received a summons for Northampton County Court. I sent £25 to cover the cost of my stay as suggested by johnnytapia but this was returned. What I would like to know is can the court be changed to a local one as Civil Enforcement are in Liverpool and I am in Stockport and can I claim to admit the £25 I sent at this stage. Any advice appreciated.
