There seems to be a fair bit of giddiness from various posters regarding our chances of winning the league next season. With the current squad we won't as we have an almost complete lack of pace and width plus we do not have a prolific striker unless Kun gets over his current wastefulness.

I am hopeful that these weaknesses will be rectified over the summer but until we know which players we have then predictions are pointless.

don't underestimate the power of a happy squad.

Kills me that I keep reading crap like this, no offence Marv.

We've had the upper hand on them for the last couple of seasons yet just with the addition of a forward they will become big favourites?

Bizarre.
Because they will resolve their managerial problem, and surely buy a striker. That's a lot of points.

Utd have lost Ferguson and the motivation they got from the Agueroooo goal will have faded by August. I don't see them being involved at all. City v Chelsea
Unless there are earth shattering moves by united and Chelsea this summer in the transfer market, then the sensible money will be on city for the title next year, because we have the best players. As it stands now, we have the best players, united second and Chelsea third. United have that team ethos which i think moyes will keep, mourinho will work on Chelsea's devensive weaknesses, but I think we will rebalance our squad with a couple of signings and pellegrini will get the best from that squad.

If I had to bet, I'd bet on us for the title.

Agreed.

I also think that Jose will make some early mistakes before he settles, it certainly won't have the same feel about it from when he previously managed at Chelsea.

I know the club want to be well thought of in the press but personally with the crap and bias we have had to put up with over the years I don't give a shit. We all know that whoever Gollum signs this summer will be an astute signing worthy of his predecessor, whoever we sign will be over the top and buying the title, which in effect means if we do win the league they (the press) will be able to devalue it in as much as, with the money you spent anybody could have won it. I just want us to play well and win as much as we can, if we get caned for it in the press who gives a shit.

Bold prediction DD. Were we to land Fernandinho, Cavani and either one of Navas or McMinimum (both gambles for different reasons), plus a half decent centre half to cover for the interminable breakdown that is Vincent Kompany, then I'd be inclined to agree with you. Until then I'd have both Chelsea and the rags above us or at the very least equal. And if we repeat last summer's transfer window fiasco, then we're gonna be in an almighty bunfight just for a top 4 finish

Exactly. Let's stick together as we are treated like the black sheep in the press, and come over their adversity.

You don't sound too confident mate of our summer activity, saw in other thread that you feel we'll only spend 30/40mil.

Have faith in Ferran, Txiki and MP. It's going to be good.

Mourinho is the man we should have got in.

What makes you think he's gonna make these early mistakes (any more than any of the other new in post prem managers) next season?

Don't know why people are so critical of Kun just based on this season, he's been disadvantaged by injuries which have stopped him getting on form.

My only grievance with him is I wish he'd stop making me stand up after making a glorious chance for himself to then slip on his fucking arse.

Bloody hell Kun, sort it out.

PUMA OUT.

Wish people would shutup about Mourinho. No he isn't, he's an absolute child. End of fucking story!

And Ronaldo can fuck off too.
