Coaching staff?
Hrm... must be some retired Spanish/South american footballer who's name we would all know.
Raúl? Ronaldo?

Martinez surely would only be interested in an assistant manager position, if interested at all that is.

Malaga newspaper confirms 2 year Pellegrini Manchester City deal now done

Malaga newspaper Malaga Hoy have confirmed that Manchester City have sign Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager on a contract of 2 years. It's a short deal and shows the Manchester club's focus on beefing up the board and football directorship sides whilst perhaps having less security on the coaching side, the plan is an all-round one rather than changing from coach to coach.

Pellegrini has accepted the 2 years but will also be paid up the final 2 years of his Malaga deal with Manchester City paying the full compensation figure Malaga requested. Malaga Hoy say that all parties are happy with the deal and Pellegrini himself is glad it is is now sorted after pushing his agent to finalise the contract and compensation.

This is thought to have happened when his agent, Jesus Martinez, met with club officials on Sunday evening.

Roberto Mancini was sacked by the club this week after failing to achieve the objectives set-out for the current season. Manchester City lost their Premier League title and also ended up the losers to Wigan Athletic, now relegated, in the FA Cup Final.

As Manchester United were parading their Premier League trophy through the city, their neighbours were firing the man who had won the same trophy exactly a year to the day previously. Pellegrini comes with a good pedigree for getting the most out of his players but hasn't achieved European trophy success other than the Intertoto Cup in 2004.

That cup was with Villarreal where he built an impressive side before moving to Real Madrid. In his one season with the Madrid club he finished 3 points behind Barcelona, one of the best teams of all time, he'd complained about not getting players for the positions he wanted and his questioning of the board meant that he only got one season. At Malaga he's done an excellent job through a turbulent time for the football club.

Manchester City would appear to be a good step for him at this stage of his career.

Here is the original news in Spanish: http://www.malagahoy.es/article/malagacf/1523607/pellegrini/y/malaga/acuerdan/su/salida/julio.html, and translated:

The coach will not have to pay the exit clause, but relieve the economy of the state, which is released from its high profile in the two-year contract that remained

The departure of Manuel Pellegrini's Malaga is a fact. The Chilean coach and the club agreed late on his departure from July 1, as anticipated in the early morning of the 12 Party, the Cadena Cope, and was able to confirm this newspaper on Wednesday morning.

The conditions are flattering for both parties. The Engineer shall have to pay four million typified in its clause, while in return the club released two years of his remaining contract with their high salaries (yes collect the outstanding amounts of this exercise).

With this private agreement, pretend not to disturb the sports landscape since European until the target is not a mathematician, do not want to talk about the future.

The Manchester City, Pellegrini next destination, the technician was pushing hard to formalize their hiring and even tried that topic at the dinner held last Sunday night, hence his agent, Jesus Martinez, has been these days by The Rose trying their disassociation with Martiricos leaders. Now, will not publicly comment until the Europa League is moored.

In principle, the Chilean signed for two years with Manchester City as a replacement for Roberto Mancini.

LOL at the Spanish translation you should have asked Spanish speaking blues to help. But I don't care who comes now just want a manager.
