Pellegrini - Job done ?

overall since we made the change from mancini we've been wank. zero progress, in fact we've gone backwards. we are no longer feared and we are incredably easy to beat. apart from that yeh "job done"

Dont bite folks, dont bite ;-)

Clearly we are well below the sum of our parts and yet we could still win the title without ever getting there. Not sure what that says about Pellers to be honest.
I've had this debate before with a few. Is it more important that we just get one point more than the team that come second, however badly we play, or is it more important that we play to our maximum potential. To me it's the latter as that means we shouldn't have to rely on 19 other teams being worse than us. I'd rather we were clearly better than those 19.

We could well win the title (and I still think we will) but there will be something gnawing at me about our general level of performances this season even if we do, unless we really buck up for the last 15 games. There will be a feeling that we just didn't play to our potential enough.

Great way to view things, whether people like Pellegrini or not there's no denying City has become a more attractive destination during his tenure, both for players and for managers. There's much less drama and much more professionalism, we've proven that winning the title wasn't just a blip and we've actually progressed in CL and are likely to progress even further this season, even if we've been dissapointing this season and the past one I feel we've been getting more and more settled as a top team every season. People would have questioned Pep if he took over from Mancini back then, nobody will question him when he takes the reigns this summer.

If we knew we would be kicking off next season with Pellegrini at the helm it would be an entirely fair opinion to hold mate but with the summer change, right now i dont give a fuck as long as we get it over the line.

The obvious answer is that whatever we win his contribution to it cannot be understated enough

Agree on both points.

Manuel is more than a stopgap - but not a lot more.
A safe and willing stopgap, which makes him one of quite a small pool we could have picked after Mancini. If in the next few years Pep achieves what is expected of him the club and supporters will look back and say 3 years well spent especially if we end this season with a trophy or two. Of course if Guardiola didn't come or he isn't all that then it could be 3 wasted years, but I know where my money would be.
