I don't see the need to sacrifice good defensive structure and play in order to be more attacking. At times MP has got the balance wrong IMO, but I think it's something that will improve.

For me, I'd have a 1-0 before a 4-3, so although I've enjoyed our play this season it's not been without its frustrations.

I'll take wins any way they come, as long as they come.

Those who say"winning is everything" are not really buying into Mr P's philosophy. His mantra appears to be "winning in style is everything".

Hopefully this important difference will become academic at the end of the season when we have both entertained royally and won major silverware.

From the Sheikh's point of view I'm guessing "winning in style" would be just perfect from a PR viewpoint.

That Luke Shaw story in the Mail is interesting because I actually believe it's possible. He'd be eligible to play in the CL this season. At 18 along with Barkley he's the best English prospect around. Be a shrewd move to pay a little more but secure him this window knowing he'd be hugely useful for the rest of the season.

We must be confident with bringing in someone for left centre back or left back for us to entertain considering the departure of Jolene.

Yeah I did think about that as well. Be a strange one IMO if we let Lescott go this month. Without a direct replacement at centre half it'd be fucking stupid.

He's doing a tremendous job and we're lucky to have him. I go into each game expecting to see a brand of football that makes me smile and he's not disappointed so far.

I'd be quite content to win nowt season on season - just watching the kind of football we've had this half season.

I can see where you're coming from; the football we're playing is excellent and is arguably the best I've seen us play (and I've been a fan since the late sixties). However... if we don't win any silverware by (at the latest) next season, I don't think MP would survive, as I'm guessing that our owners want trophies. And if we did get a new manager in, I'm also guessing that he would be more ''pragmatic'' after seeing what had (hypothetically) happened to MP.

Not this month. We can win the league and one other cup without buying anyone or letting anyone go this month IMO. Shaw would be a huge boost/bonus. The rest of our business will and should get done in the summer when the quality of players available will be much higher.

Have to disagree mate. The academy structure and the footballing philosophy (possession, width, attack, press) indicates to me that the present state of mind is a long term one and that although trophies will be important and will come, there's little or no chance of an entire philosophy being shit canned because a management appointment doesn't work out.
