Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

I just occurs to me how bizarre this situation is.

Pep - the great football innovator - which he undoubtedly has been (especially in the PL), has become stuck in cycle he can't seem to fathom.

I know we're short on numbers but he just won't change anything - so has he lost all confidence the players being able to evolve into something new??

Further to that, he's been the best manager in the world for 15 seasons.

If anyone honestly believes there's someone better out there, name them!
Its not about being better. Its about being more suited for the current moment, personnel and the context in general. No manager will be better than Pep in a vacuum, but reality doesn't exist in a vacuum.

And whats the Man City mentality? Everything lasts forever and you should try the same thing over and over again with the same result?
6 titles in 7 seasons in the most competitive league in the world would suggest that we’ve been doing something right. I should add that that’s more league titles than Real Madrid in the same period

This team is playing at a relegation level for months and there is zero change in the approach. Do you need another 7 seasons to realize that it is not working out? As someone said above, there is no innovation anymore from Pep. If he can't find a way out of this hole, someone else should. But first you need to recognize its an actual hole, not some anomaly.

Short on numbers only because he refuses to use the larger squad*

Risks Ake instead of playing the kid against a poor Everton side although the result wasn’t all Peps fault that is very poor management

When is it not a risk for Ake?

He's been paid a fortune, if he's fit and available then he needs to play.

At least we're getting back to be good enough to commit Tactical Fouls by pulling Broja's underwear to preserve a tie. We haven't been that good for months.

IMHO we need 2 CB's, RB, DM, creative & pressing AM (maybe 2 AM's).

To make top 4 we need min 45 of the next 60 available points for 73 pts!
I dont think we’re getting anywhere near top 4 but I guarantee it will be well less than 73 pts to get it.

We always talk about players having confidence and form..

No one ever talks about managers having confidence and form..

Sometimes you have to play players into form.. like KDB when coming back from injuries is shit till he's brilliant. We need to have patience with Pep.
Has any manager turned it around from this kind of slump ? Just curious.

I don’t even bother watching/reading his post match interviews. It’s always the same sounbite. No proper insight at all and no problem with it. He saves it for the dressing room
Spot on & some idiots on here get all worked up because he doesn't slag the players off in public, clueless (not Pep the idiots on here :-)

No point jumping all over pep for this performance and tbh if this carry’s on we will be in fight ti even stay up as in can’t see where 3 points is coming from and if don’t bode well .
