Grealish didn’t do that in the derby. He came on to close-out the game but was awful.
We were closing that game down until Nunes's brainfart, after that he was awful yes but that's because we needed a goal.

I seem to rememeber him constantly talking about the necessity of 5 subs, he was just trolling us in the end, it's just incredible how despite the injuries, tiredness and lack of fitness he still can't make more than two subs a game unless we're 3 or 4 up, just stop with the nonsense and use your bench already, and I mean 5 subs every damn game.

Agree but I don’t care now. Truth is pep is not making things better & I now believe it’s time to move on next season. He’s shattered like the team & after winning so much non of them can motivate anymore which is natural. We thank them & move on.
Won’t be sacked but I believe he’ll be pragmatic and walk at the end of the season. There’s a whiff of end of era in the air, with cracks appearing all over the place. I fear they won’t be cured either by the current coaching staff or a couple of transfers and it may take more than next season to regain our place.

As recent weeks have shown, teams like Brentford, BHA and Bournemouth - who were once our cannon fodder - are now well organised outfits who can make life difficult for us.

I agree. I see him gone by summer

agree on the subs. Kovacic was imo very tired, didnt manage to give us any control himself, if anything he needed help in Gundo rather than Gundo having a go at it alone with his even lesser fitness. but a runner next to Kova or Gundo like Nunes moved midfield or Lewis coming in to give us bit of control and a chance that every single Brentford attack bypassed our midfield meaning it was down to defenders only to avoid conceding. rest of the team needs to do that not only defenders. some Brentford attacks could have been stopped earlier, but our midfield is just not there in time to do it.

Haaland could have been pulled off too to give us extra man in middle.

His subs are god awful. He just does the same fucking thing every week with the same fucking result. What is he watching? Did he not see the utter capitulation of any control v West Ham when he made the same sub? Grealish came on and steadid that game plus we were 4-0 up.

Grealish and Oreilly should be ahead of Gundogan every single time

We need to stop blaming Pep.

Just ask yourself this.. was Grealish under instruction to take a terrible corner or Nunes under instructions to run back into the box and give away a pen?

It's on the players and honestly it feels like Ruben + 10 clowns out there!
Agree apart from the last 4 words. We need to stop blaming anybody, you cannot play 70-80 matches a season for club and country with all the travelling and so on and not expect something to give. You don't need to be a genius to see they're burnt out (although clearly there are not too many geniuses on this board), but without the key injuries on top we would have probably been OK.

The lad O’Reilly had a great game last week and didn’t get on tonight. Instead he put a past it Gundy on and we were terrible after that
I didn't see the need to make any subs after we went 2-0 up, but if I had to make a midfield substitution I'd have brought the young lad on for his energy and physicality as well.

You all moaned when he wasn't making substitutions and when he has, to ease the pressure on an ailing, injury hit squad, we've thrown away matches in the closing stages. Tonight was a classic example.

He made two subs and one was with 5 minutes to go, and he brought the wrong guy on first, he eased no pressure at all.

He seems to think kids are some make a wish winners who can’t possibly be relied upon in certain, testing circumstances. When I’d argue it’s the opposite and their energy and determination to perform well would help us.

O’Reilly is arrogant in his play and is physical. Could’ve been perfect for that tonight but Pep’s scared of having a youngster on when we’re under the cosh. Something I’ll never understand.

You only thing you could "blame" for his principles of having a small squad but even he has admitted it was a mistake in not having a more deeper squad. It is easy said than done in actually bringing the correct players who can really work with his methods and provide cover. We could try and play on the counter attack but that is not his way and the current set up isn't entirely comfortable with that as that it means total concentration which is what the team is lacking.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but no, it's not a mistake unless you knew you were going to get key injuries at the start of the season, that's what he said and that's what I said weeks ago.

As you have noted - sadly something most don't seen to understand - its that it's incredibly difficult to find players to come in and replace those who have won you everything for the past few seasons. Why wouldn't you stick with those players? There are no guarantees that anybody coming in is going to work, and very few hit the ground running so we might have been looking at even more dropped points.
