Our attack can be so potent if pep changes the style which he won’t so next season will be exactly the same. Do we really want to see the greatest manager of all time go out like this . Would like him to resign and go with the blessing of the club into the sunset as this cannot carry on .

Pep’s won the title 6 times in 7 years. He’ll win it again in the next couple of years as well.

If you’re looking for a manager which will do better than Pep and never ever have any disappointing periods then you won’t find one because they don’t exist.

Liverpool had 2 similar seasons under Klopp which got swept under the carpet. They were in the Europa a couple of years ago after a very similar season to the one we’re having and they had one the year after winning their 1 title as well.

Now give me the examples of managers you are talking about in the PL and tell me what they’ve won. Tell me the manager who will win the title every single season.

Perfectly put mate.

Some utter pish posted in here at the moment because we are not winning everything all of a sudden.

He really needs to go back to the 2-3 build up shape with 3 midfielders instead of the 3-2.

We are too passive in the 3-2, and the extra midfielder is better support for Kova and Bernie.

He has hit gold with the 235 shape, he even had to use it against Brugge when he fucked up usinf the 325 against them.

Stop switching the system on these players. Use the one that has some sort of proof it works and stick to it.
We set up in a 4-4-2, with the wingers tucking into wide midfield roles, and Marmoush or KDB as second striker.

In possession, we turn into a 3-3-4, and if we can pin a team back inside their 35, then we become a 2-5-3.

The problem is that if we lose possession, that 5 quickly becomes MAYBE a 1 or 2 in support for the 2 CBs holding down the fort.

Throw in the recent performance of our keepers and…5-1!

We need a 4-4-2 that has some steel in the middle of the park. Then, in possession, we can shuttle the FBs down the line. But, if our midfield can’t get out to the wings to cover an advanced FB, or shutdown any counter through the middle, then we are going to get run over.

The irony?

We will get run over by coaches that have built teams to counter the “Pep possession game” that ALMOST EVERYONE is playing now.

In fact, the teams that have taken Prp’s game and sped it up, rather than simply shuttling it left and right FOREVER, are the ones that are not only doing well, but giving us the most trouble!

Pep needs a little self-reflection, because, like Fat Sam, what’s worked for your entire career, doesn’t always work TOMORROW!

Lastly, while I certainly don’t envy their results, watching Ange-Ball is a lot more entertaining atm. If he had the players, he’d be challenging Liverpool with his tactics!

Not being an arsehole but...

Do other Managers have that luxury or do they adapt the system to fit what they have until they can recruit?
I’ve said it before about Pep: you go to battle with the army you have, not the army you want to have.
We don’t have Rodri. We don’t have the back line that won us the treble. We don’t have Kun linking up play. We barely have legs in the center of the pitch.
It’s on the manager to see what we are lacking - and see what we DO have - and adapting his tactics.

He won’t unless he changes our style .

Thanks.

Similar comments were made about Pep during the 19/20 season with several people on here saying he should go.

The manager who makes perfect decisions every year and wins every year doesn’t exist….but Pep is the closest.

Have a word with yourself.

I'm beginning to fret Pep is Pep and he hasn't got a plan B for this team anymore.
I actually thought we were playing alright up until Phil's howler pass.
But results over the season show we just don't have any leadership or mental strength to teams scoring against us and invariably collapse.
Fresh players will obviously help in time but at present it just seems like a recurring theme, a slow motion nightmare

Mate, ALL of that is history, it matters very little to how we are playing righr NOW unless you want to constantly look backwards!

It isn't about us not winning the title this Year, if we never win it again I couldnt care less tbh, we are playing awfully and it isn't getting better because Pep will not adapt, certain players have been bad but you adapt to what you have at your disposal. Everyone else has to, so we dont because our Manager has won it all? Rubbish.

75% of the team haven't suddenly become shit overnight, they just need to be deployed in a better manner than they are until we can strengthen, watching them pile forwards knowing they can't retreat fast enough, whilst we get countered every week isn't their fault surely?

Sorry don't agree, he will, he has forgotten more than we know about the game. Find it really bizarre that we, and I mean the collective we, are questioning whether the greatest coach/ manager in our history, should be our coach in the future. Be very careful what you wish for.

Thanks.

This is true. Success isn't guaranteed but Pep's the best bet. We have to add 2 quality CMs.

It's on him to try something different then because that has been the story of our season.
We were in control until Fodens fuck up ans had the momentum. We gave them two goals, it’s inexcusable. He’s played the same tactics for about four years now, it’s been proved to work. What would you like to see different to what he’s getting the lads to play? If you want City to go “long” to Haaland, that isn’t Pep and never will be.

Don't sound ungrateful, he's won it six times against people like Mourinho and Klopp, surely history counts for something, besides it's not like it's been 3 or 4 years since he last won it, it was just last season. The man knows how to navigate through this league. I think he just got a little bit overwhelmed with some of the things happening in his private life, add that to the fact that he brought in some new players who are still struggling to fit into the team, and then the issue about him being a little bit sentimental with one or two players who should have been let go a long time ago and voila, you have this season. It's a one off, we all have days like this.
