Even in seasons past when Rodri was injured or suspended, we've looked like top 4 at best in those games. It's incredible how those games didn't make it glaringly obvious we did and do not have sufficient cover for him.
Yeah we looked like shit in the 3 league losses last season when he didn't play, the board had almost a year to find a solution and did fuck all.

It's incredible that fans couldn't see how good Rodri was. I mean, many wouldn't consider him as good as the older legends and KDB. He's better than all of them.
Only took a balon d'or for that to finally be made apparent.

Garbage from him once more.

Can imagine him coming up with a gameplan for this with his staff on thursday "right, we know our boys cannot run, cannot press and cannot play out of a press anymore, we know arsenal are stronger than us in all those departments, we know playing in that manner would be playing right into their hands so this is what we're going to do, we're going to do exactly that"

Sets us up to fail most weeks. Been plenty of games or circumstances where you think "at least this will force pep to finally change now" but he hasn't. I'd like to say the same thing here but everything suggests nothing will change and it won't be long before the next piss poor performance and battering.
His ego is bigger than his achievements here.

It gets the better of himself more and more as this seasom wears on.

Whether he's better than KDB, I don't think you can compare, both great, but Rodri is fantastic football player.

I do. We have one proper midfielder (Kova) who isn't totally passed it. It's the most crucial area of the team and we're threadbare.
Well that's obviously on the squad planning, but even then I still think we should have 2 more wins at least.

Stop being stubborn and trust other players. That's what I want. If it works, great. If it doesn't, we get the same results.

He has fuck all to lose now this season.
I’ve been saying for weeks that he should give Oreilly a proper chance. Oreilly and Mcatee should have played more games and that’s the only criticism I’ll give Pep this season.

He's been threatening to leave for years. He takes 3 year contracts with the idea that he could leave at the end of them, but never does, so it's a moot point.

You said you wished he hadn't extended, why? He's the best manager in the world, who's having bad(ish) run for the first time ever. He deserve support, not smart alec whoppers questioning his every move.
He has signed several short term contracts but the difference this time is that he had actually decided to leave.

I think when anyone decides to leave their job (particularly after a long period of consideration), there’s a reason behind it, and in this instance I think it was to do with his own energy levels and the demands that would be placed on him given the need to completely overhaul the squad.

I’m not disputing that he’s been our greatest ever manager. That isn’t up for debate. I’m simply of the opinion that with Guardiola having previously decided to leave, and having essentially exhausted himself during his time here, that a fresh impetus is required to change the direction of travel.

The performances we’re seeing at the moment point to a number of deep rooted problems, and aren’t the sort of issues you expect to see develop under an elite manager at the top of his game.

People can accept an off season, it's natural after what the team has done, the problem is we're conceding the same type of goals every game and he doesn't seem to be concerned about fixing the issue.
Honestly, I know this sounds mental, but when we get knocked out by Madrid in a few weeks I think Pep should get the rest of the season off and start again in July. This is not good, the stress of having the worst year of your managerial career and your 30 year relationship breaking down could genuinely push him over the edge, God forbid. Give him the rest of the season off. Write off the season, and just hope the club get a few players in the summer that are actually rated highly. We buying players that Aston Villa are going for. Wtf is this?? Khusarnow? Marmoush? It seems like gone are the days that we were seriously interested in Bellingham, Rice, Musiala etc

If I want to win 4 titles in a row plus the Treble and I have to choose between having Rodri or KDB, I'd go with Rodri. And I think managers would agree, including Pep. Rodri is vital in both phases ot the game. He's a cheat code for he plays both at 6 and 8. He had 17 goal involvements in the league last season.

KDB is exceptional in attack but can't control games like Rodri. It's better to watch his passes and magic, but if you need wins, and ultimately football is about winning, Rodri is the first name on the team sheet.

How do you know he didn't decide to leave in the past then change his mind?

The issues aren't deep rooted, the issue is playing without a midfielder and people doing stupid things at the back.

If the issues were deep rooted the players would be kicking off at him.

We need our defenders to return from injury, Rodri back and another midfielder and we're the best team in the league again.

Just accept that we're also runs for once this season, ffs.
