Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

We were in control until Fodens fuck up ans had the momentum. We gave them two goals, it’s inexcusable. He’s played the same tactics for about four years now, it’s been proved to work. What would you like to see different to what he’s getting the lads to play? If you want City to go “long” to Haaland, that isn’t Pep and never will be.

Stop being stubborn and trust other players. That's what I want. If it works, great. If it doesn't, we get the same results.

He has fuck all to lose now this season.

We are currently in top 5 despite all the injuries, especially in defence and CM (Kova has been injured twice, not just Rodri).

Making the top 5, which is likely to be enough for a CL place, is good enough this season.
Honestly, could be much worse. If anything, it's an indictment on the other clubs competing for top 4 that a team that won 1 in 13 not too long ago is now in the thick of it.

It's a highly competitive league and not many teams can win several games in a row.

It's not only bad, it's actually embarrassing.
Can I ask you a serious question, are you actually a Blue? Embarrassing is being beaten by Shrewbury and Halifax Town in the FA Cup. Embarrassing is being 13 th in the old third division after being beaten by York City , you don't know what embarrassing is.

"1 or 2 replacements and a bit of rest" is my personal favourite of how our shortcomings will be resolved.
Up there with Kovacic will be fine if Rodri comes back to carry him and there’s something about Nunes that makes him worth keeping

Yeah currently but looking at our schedule and the way we've played we could be back to 7th or 8th again by March, I argue we should've helped ourselves by having at least the same amount of points as Forest, if we did that we could afford to drop a few points and have an easier schedule from March, we still have players that should be good enough for that and I don't think Pep has done well at all in this period.

He took a considered decision to leave at the end of the season. His decision.

Why do you think he decided to leave? Are all of those factors irrelevant now, I.e. him thinking that it’s time to go and move on?

Do you even think about things like this?
He's been threatening to leave for years. He takes 3 year contracts with the idea that he could leave at the end of them, but never does, so it's a moot point.

You said you wished he hadn't extended, why? He's the best manager in the world, who's having bad(ish) run for the first time ever. He deserve support, not smart alec whoppers questioning his every move.

Embarrassing is what's happening to United. You are embarasingly dumb if you believe being 4th with so many injuries after 4 great seasons is embarrassing.
Actaully depends on how you look at things IMO.

If you offered anyone this seasons before a ball was kicked City would fall off a cliff. You'd get pretty decent odds.

The same odds for a United downward spiral would not be in the same ball park.

And we were never as good as in 23 and the first half of 24. We went 26 gamed undefeated in the CL and 74 games undefeated with Rodri in the team. After historical highs it's normal to have a bad season. Again, only stupid people can't understand it.
Are you saying this in hindsight or did you forecast it before the down turn arrived? Not being shitty btw.

The difference between being 4th and 7th is small anyway. The important thing is to be close to top 5 come April when we are likely to be out of Europe and concentrate entirely on the league.

I don't think we should be in a top 4 scrap with this squad, that's all.

Yes, if you consider things in a vacuum. But given what we achieved in the previous 4 seasons and the injuries this season, it's normal. Our squad is great if all players are fit. Take several defensive players out and it is not, given that other players are oldish, tired or out of form.

Even in seasons past when Rodri was injured or suspended, we've looked like top 4 at best in those games. It's incredible how those games didn't make it glaringly obvious we did and do not have sufficient cover for him.

It's incredible that fans couldn't see how good Rodri was. I mean, many wouldn't consider him as good as the older legends and KDB. He's better than all of them.

No I'm not considering things in a vacuum, not being close to Liverpool this season I accept, but not the way we've been playing and losing, and for me a lot of the defensive injuries have been due to mismanagement and rushing players back.

Garbage from him once more.

Can imagine him coming up with a gameplan for this with his staff on thursday "right, we know our boys cannot run, cannot press and cannot play out of a press anymore, we know arsenal are stronger than us in all those departments, we know playing in that manner would be playing right into their hands so this is what we're going to do, we're going to do exactly that"

Sets us up to fail most weeks. Been plenty of games or circumstances where you think "at least this will force pep to finally change now" but he hasn't. I'd like to say the same thing here but everything suggests nothing will change and it won't be long before the next piss poor performance and battering.
