I agree, yesterdays game further proved he either hasn't learnt anything during this run, or if he has he thinks he's above having to apply what hes learnt to change anything. He's watching the same thing happen week in week out, nothing is improving we're just getting worse and worse.

The one game he did make out and out changes to the personnel/system we won comfortably against Forest. Funny that.
All this "change it" guff - will result in exactly the same outcome with even worse performances. The players were recruited to play a specific system only.
Not to flick a switch and play traditional, footeh at pace.
Unfortunately we're stuck with this until new recruits arrive and injury ravaged players return.

I would rather change the entire team than sack Pep, he has proven over and over again that if he has a good enough squad, he delivers trophies. Every club in the world would dream of having him as their manager and cant think of a single option that wouldn't be a downgrade.
With that said, the results are currently not good enough an no one, including Pep, is above criticism.

I just think this "we should play the youngsters instead, cant play worse" argument is a bad one. They certainly could play worse and I think some seriously underestimate the enormous difference in level between youth and PL football, the highest level in the world. Especially since the ones arguing we should play the youth players instead have little to no idea of what level they are. For all we know they could be twice as bad as the players we want to see benched.

The solution is to replace these players with better ones, not worse ones.

But by virtue of playing them, they give the older/senior players more rest - Gundogan & Bernardo have played more minutes than they should have and we are in a loop of rushing injured defenders back in, only for them to be reinjured. They can also potentially offer greater upside in different areas than those currently getting minutes. They may well be absolutely shite, but we are also currently quite poor & experience the same weaknesses every game.

Yes, kneejerk blind panic is always the best way to react to any problem.

Given the current situation, I wouldn’t consider making changes to a system that has become unsuited to most of the squad to be 'kneejerk blind panic'.

Pep is the one who needs to react with something other than 'more of the same'.

Regardless of the business, I think it reasonable to expect a more creative approach than 'more of the same' from someone paid in the region of £20m a year.

As I've said before, Pep's stubborn belief in his system will be the end of him. He'll probably die on his own sword.

There will be no dying on swords. The club will be calm,Pep will be calm. A year from now we'll be fine and all this kneejerk nonsense will look as silly as all those posts from his first year with us, it's probably the same posters not learning So you can think and post as you like, the club will be far more sensible about it.

Even when we were winning it was becoming a bit of a bore fest, I know it's unpopular but this getting to the byline then passing back continuously isn't exactly riveting.

I understand that, and I’m not looking for a knee jerk reaction neither, but in your own opinion where does that leave this season way things are?
I mean let’s be honest we don’t really want that Thursday night football, (wishful thinking) and not wanting to sound raggish, but if we finish out of the European places altogether where does that leave us in getting in decent recruitments in, it’s worrying as fuck and being calm is one thing but in reality it’s concerning now

Playing deeper and using Doku / Savinho on the counter supporting Haaland, would give a lot more support to the defence.

That would at least stem most of the daft mistakes we've been making, and may well provide the goals we're sadly lacking.

January window is tough. We've got to try to offload a few of our biggest earners to clear the decks for (no doubt overpriced) signings who will probably need six months to 'settle in'.

Hugo Viana has got a lot on his plate thanks to Txiki's shortsighted succession planning.

I feel like this is an issue - City fans comparing this season to Pep's first season.

In 16/17, we didn't have the personnel to fully execute Pep's style but we were actually a very good side. We were the best team in terms of expected points and goals, we were exciting to watch.

This season isn't like that, we're genuinely a terrible team - our form over 12 games is the worst in Europe. This is alarmingly bad.

Yes we can look back at all of this in a year if our form improves to a semi respectable level but there's no way we're making it that far if this continues as is. No club can sit tight and have this continue.
