I wonder what some of the players think of Pep signing a new contract, It could well be a case of players wanting a new coach with new ideas, Basically a fresh face around the place.

I remember when Klopp left the dippers, Before Slot took the job there were numerous reports of players being happy that Klopp had left as some of them wanted a new approach which could well be the case with some of our lads.

Before you all start jumping down my throat like spoiled brats, I'm only saying it as a possibility of this being the case. Personally I'm chuffed Pep is staying and fully convinced he will turn this around.

I dont think he will change the system at all. We have always played a very high risk game with possession. Looking back on the goals, they all came from stupid turn overs, sloppy passes, sloppy mistakes. If we play normally we keep possession and the system works. I dont know how to eradicate the sloppyness. Hopefully Pep does.
The only time I ever remember Pep making a massive change in style is when we signed Ruben Dias. Pep obviously makes slight tweeks and adjustments to the team but he made a massive change with the introduction of Ruben Dias, It was after our 5-2 bashing at home to Leicester, We went away to Leeds I think after that and whoever else, But we sat deep, Didn't press in the final third of the pitch and went back to basics to stop shipping goals.

Dias and Stones centre back pairing actually won us the title that season, Our season was built on our solid defensive shape, We actually went through stages of grinding out 1-0 wins and teams couldn't break us down.

Pep needs to come up with something, The players we have right now whether it's injuries, players we have available or old age, it's simply not able to work as they aren't capable of doing what's asked of them in a Pep system.

It is a great point and an honest one at that.
I've been saying to a couple of my mates if this was another team performing like we are you would say the manager has lost the dressing room and the players have downed tools.
Then you look at the bare facts of injuries, poor form, rub of the green, chances missed/conceded, pep signing on for another two years and you think ok, take your medicine and come out the other side.

I agree, As you said if this was us looking at another club going through this run of form with not just the defeats but the manner of which we are been beaten you'd be asking questions about the manager but more importantly are the players still playing for him, Do they have the fire in there bellies to keep going for him.

On the flipside of that, We are missing the best player in the world and a player that's massive in our tactical approach to the way we play, Also we've basically KDB, Stones, Ake, Bobb missing from the start of the season too bar a couple of games. Plus it's a team who has won four consecutive titles and been playing more games than any other team on Europe in that period of time because we make it so far in cup competitions and eventually that takes it's toll.

I think Pep and the players will come through this period, But next summer is one of our biggest summers under Pep to get players in and get the correct signings in this transition. It's a huge summer ahead for the club.

I think Pep has signed on because he's been promised new faces plus he wants to rebuild the team and maybe get one more champions league under his belt.
We'll have Rodders back next year which will be like a new signing.
I think we'll come through it, you can never say never but we need something pretty spectacular to happen for us to get 5 in a row but personally I've resigned myself to the fact that top 4 will be good return for the obstacles we're trying to overcome.
Anything else on top of that is a welcome bonus.

get Van Nistollroy in that will really tick the rags off and would be hilarious.

I think Pep would've picked up on that vibe if it was the case.

You're not wrong in saying we made sloppy mistakes for their goals. The problem is, with the way we play we put ourselves under pressure constantly, we almost encourage it in order for us to get through them and so you cannot expect zero mistakes over 90 minutes.

we pass side to side and give crazy passes to players under intense pressure for very little if any benefit for most of the game and we do it knowing if we lose the ball, which we inevitably will at some point, then we suddenly have a massive problem. It's a needless high risk for no reward.
The reward has been pretty fucking epic in fairness. We look mentally fucked though byt we always are way behind other teams in conditioning that’s why we are so strong second half.

Think we’ve left ourselves too much this time but I expect we’ll be ok for too 4. Hopefully have a good CL run
