Ranieri was staring relegation though, maybe if things get that bad with Pep sacking will become an option but I doubt that.

Pep will rightly now have the chance to rebuild the team. In the past he has shown such wonderful ability to change things in a crisis. Playing midfielders as full backs because he didn't have any. Playing inverted defenders to build up play. Playing with no striker yet still the team scored for fun. It is noticeable that he hasn't come up with anything like that during this run. I think tonight has shown we are at the bottom and perhaps in time we will look back at these last 10 games and say it was necessary.

I personally want Pep to build us again but I really need him to show his ruthless streak now. First action has to be shipping Walker out in January- like he did with Cancelo when he proved to be disruptive. For me it is more that Kyle is bringing the team down with his actual play and his captaincy has been frankly atrocious. An astute change now could perhaps get us into 4th so we can really attract players being in the CL as well as showing continuity.

As an aging midfield unit we can afford to carry maybe 1 and that player has to be Kev until summer when he - given what he has done for us - should be allowed to choose much like David and others. Bring in a new creative player in January and go from there. It's not all about missing one player it's about collective lethargy - bringing me back to this being a team in the image of the captain.

All good things come to an end and we've had the best decade any team has ever had. But now we need to change and only take the players who have the right stuff mentally with us. I didn't like what I saw from a few tonight and we need a proper leader who will not accept players strolling on the pitch when things don't go their way or passing the buck by not taking responsibility.

I am very optimistic that with a new midfield and new fullbacks we will once again be in the hunt for everything. We must return to playing with joy and character. I know deep down it will all beok - there will be big changes and that has to start with the most inept skipper (remember since he took the role it's been all plain sailing so wasn't really tested leadership wise) being let go.

Onwards and upwards blues let's get behind Pep again - and maybe just maybe playing that team this weekend may re-ignite some passion within this group.

You're talking about a few games where he changed things, we're talking about becoming more defensive week in week out, it's different.

Right, so he has the capacity to adapt based on the situation, with our limitations and minimising the opposition strengths. It isn't an expectation that he instantly changes his ethos from now on, just that while we have injuries/unfit players, he adapts to it making us more difficult to beat. At the moment he isn't. It's essentially the same on repeat with the same results. I honestly believe he can do better than he has been doing with the squad available and he isn't beyond reproach for sticking to principles in spite of results.

We have been hearing for two months now that hes the greatest in the world, he will find the solution. Turns out his solution is just get back the injured players and hope we can go back to how it was before. Khaldoon needs to step in and sell Walker, Gundogan and maybe a few more in January so he can't fucking play them.

Yes I agree that he should change things and become more pragmatic, but it's clear he won't do it, what can we do except complain about it ?

The only guy I've seen this season who tracked back at pace and made a tackle is Nunes on a few occasions, you know because he has that thing called pace, you know that thing we seem to be allergic to.

What Pep has achieved in his time at City is remarkable, especially in the last three seasons with the pressure of the charges against the club. To win what we have in this time is unbelievable . He will rebuild this team, like he has done before. Anyone who doubts him is a fool.

he asks Lewis to join midfield to create advantage but what is the advantage? because the disadvantage is clear at the back, but honestly I dont see what the inverted fullback brings this season to us. does it make us harder against transition? not at all. do we create more chances due to it? not at all. its like we are just doing it without purpose or because some variation of it worked in previous years.

while defence gets very little help from midfield. a midfield of Gundo, Grealish, KDB, how they are helping the defence?when Gundo the deepest midfielder is often closer to the opponent box than the midfield line when opponent makes a run with the ball on our half.

this high line only works well with great pressing and great ball possession, meaning rarely lose it in dangerous positions, if we lose it, lose it very high up and try to win it back with strong pressing or make a fault up there, or a tactical foul for a yellow. but nothing like that is happening, we lose in dangerous position, no pressing any sort of, and we are just brutally slow with Gundo and Lewis in there, with Lewis trying to be back to his fullback position and Walker is just imo done due to his personal life, divorce, quite embarrassing media stories.

I don't either. He went on and on about needing five subs, hardly uses one most of the time. Said the league cup was unimportant and we are in an injury crisis, plays almost the whole first team and three defenders get injured. Wants McAtee to stay, plays him 2 minutes in the league.
