I'd be happy if it did and I'd take it on the chin, as he's reinvented the team multiple times. But everyone agrees that we need fresh blood on the field. He's not going to reinvent us in one final season, even if he stays.
This one extra year at a time thing works well if the squad is settled and we only need to fine tune things each season.

But a proper rebuild needs a longer timeframe and confidence that the manager is going to be around long enough to finish the job.

Unfortunately the raft of injuries we’ve experienced and the loss of form of other senior players has shifted the goalposts in terms of what we now need from the manager.

Yeah, not as if they even make us more solid as they all look like they’re running through treacle. All out attack looks the only solution at the moment
Yeah i agree, score more than them we're conceding more goals by being more negative

I agree, but what other options are? I would like Rico, but that means Walker has to play and he is having a nightmare of a season.

O'Reilly or McAtee? You are joking right?

I am the first who would love to see both Gundo and Bernardo as subs, but we don't have what is needed. That's the reality.
I think the midfield should be Kova - Foden - nunes until kev is back, score more than you concede and at least it has legs.

Haha What is untrue about that? I’m confident he won’t go but if he does…
It's not as old as you make out. Kev, Gundogan & Walker and that's about it.

Gvardiol, Foden, Haaland, Bobb, Doku, Savinho, Rico all very young. Loads of promising youth coming through, plenty of cash and we're the best run football club in the world. We're a couple of players away from having a squad for another 5 years plus.

You’re just adding shit you twat, I just said old players, is that not a fact? Fuck off
You said we were going to be in the same boat the piss can left utd in.
You’re a dick. I shall fuck off though. Cheers.

Some weird shit in this thread. 4 on the bounce is mental. We’re 2 off top playing shit and with a load of injuries.
Maybe we fall off this season, maybe we go strong again after Xmas. Let’s not write of the greatest coach ever after 10 games of the season

There’s young players no doubt. Kovacic and Bernardo also as the ones you mentioned who are going to take some serious replacing. Also a lot of players entering 30 some of which are very injury prone. But like I said the man tasked to do it is a man unknown to us.

I'm confident he'll sort it and I'm also confident he'll be around a while longer yet.

30 isn't old mate, still 3/4 seasons in them yet. We've been here before and we did ok, not worried one bit.

Adding your own words and replying to them..bizarre. I said if he goes this season he would have done the same, leaving us with an aged squad, how is that not a fact?

Trust in Pep because it gets even tougher in the next 4 weeks even with the International Break. If we are still in the top 2 after Liverpool at Anfield in December 1 he will have worked an astonishing achievement and more importantly it will drive our season forward. He always has found a way. Although this is the hardest test he has ever had in his life.

Agree with this and it's frustrating that we've let it get to this point.

A signing of a quality, young and dynamic midfielder the year Gundogan left would've left us very well placed for another 5 years of success.

As it is now, we need to make signings from a position of weakness and they need to hit the ground running.

I agree, but Nunes had to play as a winger for the last 3 matches. I think it has to be Kovacic- Nunes/Grealish - Foden/KDB for the season. Bernardo and Gundo as subs, Doku as a great sub for the last 30 minutes in both wings.
