One day this man will leave city.
Maybe then.
When we get a normal manager people will realise just how lucky we are to have the greatest manager the game has ever had and will ever have as the manager of man city.
Mel machin. Alan ball.
Steve coppell.

And now we have this man.
We really are blessed.
Even manchini doesn't compare to his man.

he needs to forget this idea that he and the club needs to do favours to Walker, KDB, Gundogan etc.
if that was the case Kun should be still here as the mains striker and not sent off to Barca without giving him a new contract while not even sure if we can land Kane which we couldnt in the end.

these players served us very well but I think we need to be ruthless at letting them ago before they play like in current season and not after or way after

I never want to see that starting midfield ever again. It made no sense.

Bernardo had his best game of the season at the weekend…moves him to RW. He’s got no pace, no right foot, doesn’t create or score goals. Be better off with Ederson out there.

Foden has been scoring for fun in the middle…moves him to LW.

Does this to accommodate a geriatric Gundo, who has had 1 good game (against a shit Ipswich) all season.

Theres no way this current side can have KDB and Gundo in the middle. I have no idea why Pep can’t see this.

Pep got very lucky in the end. That game could easily have gotten away from us.
He was excellent v Chelsea and has been in other games but I agree that midfield is a recipe for disaster and the constant playing players out of position is so annoying.A decent team would have beaten us easily.

Didn’t even need to play that system as it would have left plenty of space for their counters. Just leave Foden drifting in from the right where he can get his shots off and play Savinho. Was all about accommodating KDB, Bernie and Gundo. Thankfully we got away with it
We won’t get away with it in the next round . Starting to really piss me off seeing gundo Bernie and kdb together every game as it’s killing us in midfield. Legends of city but we can’t have 3 in the same match squad anymore and this is why we will not win the next round as j doubt he will drop any of them .

Not sure how we should have done that with a team playing a deep block of 9.
Midfielder between CBs for the build up and width from Gvardiol & Nunes rather than Foden & Bernardo. We were better second half when Nunes pushed up right and when Gvardiol supported Savinho (as he did with Marmoush vs Chelsea).

We had the greatest Manager of all time. Would be a bit of a stretch to claim that in the here and now. Lets see what he can do with the new signings and how they bed in.

Despite Peps undoubted genius he has certain weaknesses and one of these ( maybe as he has got older ) is his treatment on the whole to younger players and a loyalty to the old guard.

I think he finds it easier to not pick the younger players than leaving out the likes of Gundogan, KDB and Silva etc and it has cost us big time this season....and very nearly last night.

Using Liverpool and Arsenal (and the Rags) as an example they will play a specialised right back or left back (or any position) no matter what age rather than selecting a player to play out of position.

It must be very demoralising to be a youngster at City sometimes.

I wouldn't swap Pep for anyone......but feel as though he could do with a strong number 2.

I really can't understand a word Pep says.
I hear the words, it is the order and structure of the sentences that baffle me.

He deliberately talks a load of bollox in pressers for sure.

A controversial opinion i imagine....

For me as a general theme, pep has let anxiety get the better of him this season repeatedly and hasn't really responded to evidence as its come in.

His theory post Rodri was play all the passers, at the expense of incisiveness. It's super obvious that when just one of Gundo/Kova/bernardo doesn't play, any of them, the team is instantly improved. More evidence of that last night.

The solution this season to Rodri was to embrace the attack, which his been mostly fit, and try and outscore opponents who may get a goal due to defensive injuries and midfield deficiencies. Instead when it didn't work instead of embracing the attack he's got more paranoid about control and made the issue worse.

What pep has tried to do has failed, if he plays all the passers the side effect of no pace/physicality undoes any control gains he hoped for and does nothing to resolve defensive problems. What it does do though is completely stifle the attack. Watching Gundogan try and crash the box is a tragic sight at this point in time and I think our absolute worst moments this season have him in the 10.

Pep is the greatest, but his sort of inability to react to all the passers equals fragility and lack of pace and attacking problems outcomes, well it feels like the first time Ive seen him be stumped by a problem and not eventually get to the right solution.

I think he's earned the right to get it wrong for a year, but I do think he's gotten it wrong this year

You really have got it in for Pep haven't you…
I think it's a legitimate claim....

I believe Pep is the greatest manager of at least my lifetime. And I love him to bits. But i am now of the opinion that he too has peaked and is no more heads and shoulders above every manager around him like he was at his peak the last 6 or so years.

He is just one of many very good Managers around now. Hopefully, he can find his form again.

If they ask stupid or deliberately controversial questions then he's quite entitled to respond in kind.
